Just got reconnected (£15:twisted: ) after the *******s cut me off for not paying my bill in time. I would have left it for a bit but wanted to see Haye and Barret talking with Bunce. Anyone else tuning in?
I might do, but have got sick of Haye speaking for the past six months and want to see him fight. Will probably stick that bit on mute and have some grub at that time. Quality fighter our David, but he is starting to sound as bad as Junior Witter.
He talks out of his arse again, knocking the IBF for stripping Malignaggi of his belt for ducking his mandatory against Ngoudjo. What Bunce the Dunce doesn't know (or care) is that Ngoudjo was robbed blind against Malignaggi. If Hatton was fighting Ngoudjo, the latter would not be "some African guy no one cares about", but "the second best fighter in the division, who beat that wimp Malingaggi and was robbed blind"! Why is it that Bunce always seems to be on the side of the corrupt promoters with the big money, instead of the honest fighters who get robbed blind trying to make a living? Why doesn't he want the best to fight the best? He was knocking Taylor for "ducking" Froch last week, but then said Taylor was right taking the easy money against Lacy, who is better known than Froch. If it were up to Bunce, there's be no belts, just one, the WWE belt.
Robbed blind is a bit strong if I remember rightly. Paulie's fought N'Dou twice on order from the IBF hasn't he, now they are insisting he rematch Ngoudjo. So that would be 4 fights spent dispatching the same 2 opponents. I think the IBF were harsh in stripping him.
Paulie-Ngoudjo was a close fight and I had Paulie losing a close decision but I was watching it in a pub so my scoring could well be suspect.
What was harsh was robbing the guy in the first place, surely! Malignaggi is ****...he couldn't even beat N'dou and Ngoudjo clearly. But he's good enough for Ricky, I guess, at this stage of Ricky's career, given Ricky's last performance and that he has to win this one to make the big bucks against DLH or Pacman next.
The first fight with N'Dou was a challenge - after winning I aren't sure whether N'goudjo was mando or voluntary. He had a rematch clause with N'Dou, and now the IBF have imposed N'goudjo as mando - perfectly right IMO. So N'Dou (rematch) counted as a voluntary, even though it was mandatory (in legal terms, rather than IBF) - therefore he must fight a mando next. Hatton isn't the mando therefore he must be stripped. To be fair, the fact that an IBF title may or may not be on the line means nothing in this fight. Hatton doesn't care that much about belts, otherwise he would never have kept the IBO after losing to Floyd - HBO aren't fussed for them either.
The problem is the hypocrisy involved. Everyone, coming up, wants to get a shot at the title and not be robbed fighting for it, but then when they make it, they think they're bigger than the belt, so should be allowed to pick and choose whom they want to fight. Boxing is a dirty business, and this is how it works, unfortunately! But why the hell is Bunce praising such fighters for doing the dirty?:huh He seem to take a great delight in being on the side of the bad guys, here...he clearly cannot be a true boxing fan, because true boxing fans want to see the best fight the best, and that can only happen when you fight mandatories, etc.; true boxing fans don't want to see the guys that were lucky to have been given the chance or were hyped like mad by their promoters to the top of the tree picking and choosing!
But how many times to you hear the opposite from the fans, "**** the belts, I just want to see these guys fight!"? Does anyone really want to see a Paulie-Ndgoudjo rematch?
