The truth is that if Pacquiao will try to get first at Floyd like Shane did and it's almost guaranteed that if he gets short or off target, he gets countered. The only point left is whether Manny can go thru those stiff shots again and again. Maybe Manny's footwork can solve the problem.

He use to play soccer and be a bicyclist before he started boxing, but im sure that has nothing to do with that though.

I see no significant slippage. His hands are still lightning fast, in fact the sheer speed (and of course the timing with which they were employed) actually intimidated someone like Shane and made him gunshy. Floyd didn't look particularly tired, and his legs and conditioning held him up from what would probably have been a KD for most other fighters in the second round.

You say he gets hit more now? In his last two fight against Marquez and Shane, I can actually count on one hand the amount of serious, completely flush punches he took. Mosley landed two BIG shots, and very little else. Marquez landed two good rights, if I remember right, and very little else. That's four serious punches in total, split between two excellent, A grade fighters. (Although Marquez was, of course, undersized and didn't belong at that weight.)

Yeah so it's not like he was working on a computer for 5 years before he became a boxer and therefore would have been completely fresh at the ripe age of 20 to start right?

He was still involved in sports and sports that tire a body out a great deal like soccer and cycling.

    You're an idiot.

Wow he made Shane look like a little boy, i'm surprised he never seriously hurt this guy while he hit him with like 156 right hands dead on his mouth

Just learn how to construct a proper sentence. I don't know why you are getting mad. You are the one who completely ****ed up everything to do with that "long ass sentence."

Your Martinez-Pacquiao comparison was dumb. Martinez started boxing when he was in his early twenties, so him being fresher than the average 35 year old boxer is not a surprise. Pacquiao started boxing professionally at 15 or 16. Not only has he been in more fights and tougher fights than Martinez, but Manny also started when his body wasn't completely developed which makes it worse. It's the same reason why you see so many tennis players flame out around the age of 30. A child's body isn't ready for that kind of work at a professional level. Some people also question if this might happen to NBA players who came straight out of High School and they're more developed than a 16 year old.

Obviously playing soccer is less physically harmful than boxing, so the comparison makes no sense. Martinez's reflexes wouldn't be as bad as Pacquiao's should be right now. You can also use Hopkins to kill your argument as well. He didn't decline as fast as Roy did even though Jones is 4 years younger. Hopkins had less fights and started professionally around 24, where as Roy was 20 and had a much deeper amateur pedigree. You also have to acknowledge that Pacquiao's style is more open to deterioration than Martinez's due to the fact that Manny clearly took more punishment throughout his career.

Shane barely threw punches because Floyd made him think twice, countered and beat him to the punch repeatedly. Learn boxing dude. You really think Floyd played no part in lowering Shanes activity??? You think Shane just didn't throw punches for the hell of it?

I bet you also think Pac's activity dropped against Marquez because Pac just had an "off night" too, and Hopkins movement and defense had nothing to do with Calzaghe's activity dropping against him.

If and when Pac fights Floyd, he will throw alot less punches also

Yeah Floyd is starting to slip he gets hit by grandpa Mosley, who old, shot, done, and really only fights for money/...... oh wait, I forgot to mention he's also an experienced welterweight champion who's never been knocked out, but Iced Iron chinned Margarito, he has fast hands and is in good shape. Not a good performance by Floyd cause he got hit in 1 round, that's too much if he want to be on of the best.

How does he get hit more? Mosley's connect percentage was a lousy 20%.

Mosley landed 98 punches, while DLH landed 122 and that was three years ago.

Also, how was he 'missing a lot'? His connect percentage was 44% and he landed almost half of his power punches.

He's not as fast as he once was, which is expected when you're in your 30s and fighting in a higher division. I was re-watching his fight with Carlos Gerena from 1999. Damn he was quick and threw nice combinations.

However, he's gotten bigger and stronger and seems to have filled out into a solid welterweight. He hasn't declined in terms of skills.

Yeah, Shane lost to Cotto, but he sure threw a lot more punches at Cotto than he did Floyd which tells you what lol... All i know is that your number of posts(Posts: 84) tells me you're an alt in damage control for your hero Pac...

Shane did not want to fight inside, and imo did not want to get knocked out, so he held when Floyd got close. there were times when shane got booed for holding, and Floyd was really trying to push Shane off of him...
