Anyone notice how the referee skipped 4 numbers and immediately went to 5?

Lol, what? The only time I seen this happen was to the away fighter. Even then, I've never seen it go above 4 seconds.. and they were reasonable seconds for example, the Mayweather and Hatton fight. This mother ****er counted fast as **** and immediately went to 5 giving Scott a 3-4 second time frame to get up since they stop fights at 9 in Britain..

I think it really depends on the referee to be honest. some referees will start at 1, others will start at around 3, since the first two seconds they are telling the other guy to go to the neutral corner, but this one started later, and it really was a fast count. it did look like Scott was up at 9.

Exactly. I've just seen the fight a dozen times now.. As soon as the referee says nine, like literally the exact moment, I paused the video and Malik's gloves are off the ground. As soon as that happens, the referee stops the fight. Wtf kind of **** is that.

Really making yourself look stupid :patsch

The second a fighter touches the ground the time keeper starts to count the ref sends the upright fighter to a neutral corner. The reference then picks up the count off the time keeper. That is how it works in every fight everywhere :patsch

So that leaves me thinking you are 1. A troll who should not be fed.
    2. You simply don't understand the rules
    3. Your dumb :good

A count shouldn't start until a fighter in in the neutral corner and the count should stop if a fighter leaves the neutral corner. Should it not?

Read your own thread title to determine who is the dumbass:

As you were told, the ref picks up the count from the timekeeper.

In this case, Scott was down for four or five seconds before the ref picked up the count.

This is exactly the way it works in every fight there is a knock down, the time keeper starts the count and the refs spose to pick up the count.

    I choose 3 & 1 this guys a dumb troll.

x2 it would appear so, wouldn't it.

FWIW I expected Scott to win, but can't see what all the fuss is about. No-one really thought he had a stellar future in front of him did they?

The rule state that a boxer must be on his feet and STABLE BEFORE the 10th count; that's why in many fights the boxer is up, but he's ambling, and the referee refuses to let him go.
    Rules are rules.

after nine before the tenth malik was actually up and stable, referee should have let it go on.
