As seen in this video, he wasn't busted up or anything,

How do you rate his defense? When i was watching the fight, he was doing the shoulder roll once in a while, anyone notice that? He may not be exciting but he did what he had to do, also only a short notice to fight Rios and was a huge underdog.

Abril is a brilliant defensive fighter. I've seen him fight live, and was stunned at the ease with which he dodged and slipped punches. His opponent could barely hit him, and even then, only with occasional, glancing blows (which Abril always countered beautifully).

Abril vs Gamboa at 135, or Abril vs Broner at 135 make it happen

Abril needs the WBA title shot, no one will want to fight him, he makes it his fight and there isn't anything anyone can do to stop it, the only person who has a chance is someone who has a better jab, and it has to be alot better because the guys defence is water tight.

I haven't seen the fight but judging from the vid it looks the guy could have fought at least a couple more twelve rounders that same night.. The guy is not joking!

Not getting marked up happens when you don't get hit.

No one wants to fight him because they can't get TV money if they do because none of them want Abril on their network. His **** worked in the amateurs where you score points. In the pros, not so much.

I don't understand why, give the man some backing and you could see a multi weight champion, it is incredibly unfair and I honestly found him entertaining.

Professional boxing as an entertainment relies on two guys showing up with the intent of fighting. That is where the entertainment value comes from. No one wants to buy tickets to watch a guy spoil and hold and rely on the other guy to initiate. That is why the judges gave the fight to Rios. The judges have been doing this for a while now. If the guy isn't willing to be 50% of the fight maker, then he needs to be penalized.

abril was a winner even though he lost the fight. he got attention and exposure from the boxing fans and the media knowing who the real victor was...this will lead to more big fights for him...
