I'd agree if he wasn't throwing back, but he was, with a great level of success too, there is spoiling, then there is winning.

Granted for the masses the pace of the fight was alot more boring for the majority of people than what it would if Rios got his way, I enjoyed the pace of the fight being controlled

Since that performance, i became a fan of Abril, he may be boring to others but love the way he circles the ring and setting up his jabs. He is a technician!

was he even in a fight....lol??? thats right Rios kept missing left/right!!!! what a loser that RIos. I always said it, he is over rated. No real boxing skills, just your typical straight up in front of you to hurt you boxer. That is good when fighting lower opposition BUT will not work too good against caliber opponents that will not engage in that.

Abril will be avoided like the plague because no TV outlet will want to touch his fights so he will bring little money to the table. He got exposure, but not the good kind.

It's ironic. Rios ordered a pizza and went to sleep in his room, while Abril is chilling in the casino. Abril looks like he was never even in a pro fight.

He wasn't in a pro fight. He was in an amateur points scoring boxing match.

Very true, but not my point. Rios has a crowd pleasing style and comes to throw punches. The networks will still want him in with the right opponent. All you guys talking about how great Abril was in this fight, I'd better see this fight at the top of your "Fight of the Year" lists come December.

He was in a pro fight, fighting another pro boxer who was supposed to take his head off. He neutralized Rios's style perfectly. I think Abril could make some good fights matched against other technicians.

That's a false choice. Just because you think he fought a good fight does not mean you have to rank it fight of the year. However it is in the lead for exposure of the year.
