If Clottey wins, he really puts himself in the "elite" class at WW. If Judah wins, he's back in the mix also. Whoever wins will get a huge boost. Whoever loses will take a step back. I think if Judah loses, it will hurt him more as he's lost to Cotto, PBF, and Baldomir in recent years. But if Clottey loses, people can always say that they didn't expect much from him to begin with. These are the type of fights i love. Not two "elite" fighters going at it on a PPV card but two slightly below "elite" fighters going at it to prove where they are at in the sport.
Please name the ww's you would consider elite. Right now, as I see it, the division is filled with talent yet none I would consider elite. Other than that - yes - I'm looking forward to this matchup.
You are correct that these are the kind of fights that are great for boxing, and they are also when we get to see the best of both fighters more often than not. I like Clottey in this one, and I also think he is a little underrated just as Zab has always been a little overrated. I think Zab's best days are behind him and he probably will show a little of the the ring wear that he has endured in the past few years. Where as Clottey seems to just be hitting his stride, and usually fights either up to or down to the level of his opponent. Given Zab's name I expect Clottey to be firing on all cylinders and probably stop Zab late in the fight.
I would consider Cotto, Mosley, and Williams "elite" WWs. Marg is so overrated IMO. But yeah, the WW is more about depth than truly great talent.
This will be the fight of the year. After getting ducked by that no good steroid cheat Mosely, the comeback kid from BK is going to add another world title to his collection. Back to Mosley, that chump knew what type of ass whoopin he was in for. With his court case coming up, Shane knew he couldn't get hopped up on his precisous steroids. At this stage in his career, he's nothing without them. No surprise he backed out at the first opportunity that he got.
Clottey has only two losses on his resume. One was a DQ loss to Baldomir in which he was clearly winning the fight. I have no idea why he got DQed. Anyone know? And the other loss was to Marg when he broke his left hand in the 5th. He clearly won the first four rounds in impressive fashion before he broke his hand. So if we are playing the "what if" games, this guy could very well be undefeated. Think about that.
Reggie is obviously bored and is looking to get into a debate you can't actually think Mosley ducked Zab right?
It's subjective, your idea of an elite fighter is as good as anyone else's. I tend to save the word elite for a rare category of boxers with unique talent and achievements. Not to disparage Cotto whom I consider the very best WW right now, but he doesn't quite belong to this category.
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck; it's a duck. I heard Shane's wife seduced Zab in that bathroom. After she sucked his dick, he let his guard down and relaxed. She then pushed him through that shower door. Shane will stop at nothing to avoid Super Judah. Why do you think he jumped right from 135 to 147? He didn't want to experience what a good ass whoopin felt like, that's why.
