Depends on how you perceive Margarito. Personally, I don't think much of him. Cotto would be dominating a top 50 maybe top 40 P4P boxer though I reckon that the stylistic challenge posed by Margarito would make this win more significant than any other top 5 vs. top 40 P4P matchup would normally be. Cotto, on the other hand, consolidated his P4P status by beating Mosley.
Spot on. It will fun to see the first few rounds since these guys are fast starters and slow finishers.
Come on Reg. I can see your point in the fact that the guy is a trainwreck waiting to happen. It's unfortunate that is what draws fans as opposed to the sweet science, but what ever. To say a three time champ over two divisions means that you are counting the WBO trinket that he won from Demarcus Corley? That's awful. I guess by that standard we should start calling guys who win the IBC or WBF or whatever else alphabet crap there is as world champions? And the fact that you are defending Zab's chin is not worth commenting on.
He didn't break his hand, it was a bruised knuckle, a common injury and typical excuse. He looked good for 4 rounds against Margarito and then Margarito took over like always. On top of that Margarito had a sprained wrist and ankle. Margarito had to take 7 months off with those two injuries. You don't have a broken hand and then fight Diego Corrales 4 months later. Oh yeah, Clottey by TKO 8.
Superman is back ! I see Zab takin this by UD, i dont really think clottey can keep up with his workrate?
That's because only a fool would argue against facts. The fact of the matter is, Zab has finished every fight that he's been in on his feet. Alright, technically speaking, Nady waived off the fight against Tszyu when Zab was on the canvas. However, he got right back up a spit second later. I never made any mention as to how good his chin is in that post. I stated a fact, Zab has never been KO'd(only TKO'd twice).
Well if you count Nady stopping him from falling a third time against Tsyzu, then you are right. "Don't ever play with matches............."
Are you sure it wasn't a break? Whatever the case, it clearly affected him. He was a different fighter after he hurt it. Maybe he's not as mentally strong as Marg and that is one of his shortcomings. I was just watching the Clottey/Corrales fight and after the fight, Clottey said that he weighed in at 170 on fight night with his clothes on. That's still huge for a WW isn't it?
I don't think it affected him as much. It might have hurt his hand when he landed it on Margarito's granite chin....Haha..seriously, I just think that Margarito started overwhelming him like he typically does. And yeah, 170 with clothes on (so he was probably about 165 without clothes) is huge for a WW...
This is going to be a good fight..and lord knows Zab Judah is entertainment in its purest form. At the end of the day though, I think the winner of this one is just gonna lose it to whomever loses the Cotto/Margadorito fight.
I'll watch it but not really looking forward to it as the divisions best already handed both fighters a beatdown, but it should be a good scrap
I always look forward to matchups like these because it gives us a brief perspective on what might have been. Look, I know most don't see what I see regarding this issue, but in my estimation some of the best boxers at 147 and 154 have been avoided for the better part of 6 years. What we've been fed at 147/154 is pretenders fighting hasbeens/neverwas, for years now. Clottey is part of that group on the outside. Judah is on the inside. Obviously it holds some significance to me.
Clottey is too big for Zab. I'd be surpised if this fight went more than 5 Rd.s Clottey by K.O. 4th RD.
I'm one of those that is VERY excited for this fight. I love Zab Judah, one of my all time favorites, and this is a dangerous fight I think. I just hope the winner can get a crack at Berto's undeserved belt.
