Anyone remember how long Haye stopped sparring before the Ruiz fight?

The official line from the Haye camp (Booth alluded to it maybe being a lie) is that Haye has already finished sparring for the upcoming fight, 18 days early.

I remember it being a sort of big thing that Haye complained about not really having enough sparring and Booth saying it meant he wasn't sharp enough because of a cut which prevented him doing so.

I just thought it would be interesting to know how long before the Ruiz fight that Haye had to go without sparring.

Its marvellous, how much people are not clued up on here.

David Haye didn't do much sparring for John Ruiz, because he suffered a cut in training.

The fight itself looked like a sparing session to be honest.

I think sparring will play a massive part in this upcoming fight.

I guess Haye has been sparring behemoths again.

Klit should of enquired about sparring with Andre Dirrell...he could of tagged Haye blindfolded after that.

It's funny how I've heard a few people say that Haye's sparring has been great and Wlad won't be able to get any one to replicate Haye.. well obviously Haye can't get anyone to replicate Wlad either.

The reason I don't think sparring is so crucial for a fight like this is because Haye won't be planning to take too many shots. Sparring is good to gain toughness and can help footwork and sharpness but I actually think it's a smart idea to have a good break from sparring before the proper fight. Now he has a fortnight to stay sharp and focus on his gameplan.

I expect Haye to fight Wlad exactly to a script that he and Adam Booth will have written out. Each step of movement, feint and power punch thrown will be with meaning and purpose. They're very, very meticulous like that.

Well i seem to remember Haye and Booth saying that they done zero sparring due to Haye's cut , hence Haye's poor timing on fight night .

Additionally Booth said he wanted to postpone the fight and Haye was vehemently against it , and Booth praised him in the post fight interview for taking the fight and " throwing caution to the wind " , his words ........

Sparring will play a massive part in this fight, as it does in any fight. To think otherwise is very naive.

Klit spars MWs & Jnr MWs before every fight to sharpen his speed, but it probably has never been so useful a preperation as it will for this fight.
