The first time I saw the name Lamar Clark was in an ad in the middle of Ring Magazine that asked some boxing trivia questions. The question was 'Who had the most consecutive number of knockouts?' The answer was Lamar Clark and Billy Fox, who each had something like 43 consecutive KOs. Only later did I see that many of these results were suspicious. And incidentally Billy Fox was the fighter to whom Jake LaMotta admitted to taking a dive in order to get a shot at the middleweight title.

The only known opponent that he won against that I heard of was Tony Burton who was Apollo's trainer in the Rocky movies.

I saw that Burton was Clark's only win where the opponent had a halfway decent record. I had no idea that he was Apollo's trainer in Rocky. Very cool.

Lamar Clark vs Butterbean. 10 rounds. Who takes it?

lol

Williams defeated Terrell, Daniels, Miteff, Rischer, Johnson, Holman, Richardson, etc. Where are Clark's "similar" wins? Don't waste your time looking, you won't find anything.

Dude fought Ali, Rademacher, Sullivan, Whitaker, Butler, Jackson and Randall.

Of course he lost to Ali and Rademacher (no shame) and it was Joe Sullivan instead of John L, Willard Whitaker instead of Pernell or Lance, Cornell Butler instead of Lionel (but the names sound pretty close), Dynamite Jackson instead of Tommy and Del Randall instead of Frankie.

But that’s gotta be worth something.

The only man he beat who had a decent record in a dozen prior fights fought awful opposition himself.
Even if no fight was ever fixed, he fought abysmal competition.

Check out his record compared to Butterbean or McNeeley: they were Masters compared to this guy.
They would finish him quickly.
His competition could not have been worse: https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/9367

I'd pick Butterbean and McNeeley over Monte Masters any day. I'd probably pick Lamar Clark over Monte Masters. ;)
