Just got done rewatching Gaby Canizales vs Miguel Happy Lora... Raúl had beaten both of them (actually beat Gaby twice), split with Wilfredo Vazquez has some solid names on his record, but I can’t find much on YouTube nor do I remember him much outside of his name. So, does anyone remember him or have any thoughts about him?
There was an old thread that I bumped not too long ago on Jibaro. Still havent gotten the chance to see much more from him but at his best he seemed like a solid fighter when he was dedicated. I'm still shocked to see a fighter that tall even make that weight at all. From what I can see he somewhat reminds me of Jhonny Gonzalez: skinny frame, long reach, nice textbook skills, good work rate and power, and somewhat fragile. I saw a full fight of Raul Perez vs Miguel Lora on YT not too long ago. He pretty much controlled the fight against Lora with his reach, workrate, and ring IQ while Lora showed flashes of his brilliant defense but was not winning rounds. Anyone who can convincingly beat Miguel Lora in his prime has to be a pretty solid fighter.
Yeah I’m not sure why that is. I would like to see more of Jibaro’s bantamweight fights. He seemed like a real nightmare to fight, like a BW Paul Williams.

He was the best in the 118 lb. division for a short time. Freakishly tall for his weight. He had slowed down by time he lost to Greg Richardson in '91.
I would've loved to seen his first fight with Gaby Canizales. I recall reading at the time that the fight was dead even when it was stopped on a cut in the 9th round in favor of Perez.
