Tyson's personal cheerleader for most of his post-prison run?

I spotted this part in the middle of Simon Brotherton's article on the BBC.

    TAXI...
The Top Rank gym is on an industrial estate near the Vegas Strip, but next to a freeway, which means four wheels are essential for getting back to your hotel.
With no cabs nearby, I was offered a lift by an unlikely source, a cabbie simply known as Crocodile.
The same Crocodile who used to act as cheerleader to Mike Tyson back in the 1990s, roaring "fight time! guerrilla warfare!" into the bemused face of Frank Bruno, among others.
And no, his act hasn't changed, but it was a nice gesture, even though he drives in his own sweet way. We made it back though.

So that's what happened to that ****ing hanger-on?

Last I saw of him he was with Herbie Hide and starting a riot in York Hall, whilst Audley Harrison yelled "this is my show!" in the middle of the ring. :patsch

Still, these kind of whacky characters can bring some amusement. Like that guy that used to come out with Jeff Lacy and yelled aggressive motivational phrases such as "bring da pain", "can't nobody step to this", or simply "UNDISPUTED...YEAH!".

Cab Driver, I think a cab driver is an honest job but it's good to see these hangers on get dumped and actually have to go get a real job.

It's good to see when these hangers on get cut loose and have to find real jobs. That guy always rubbed me the wrong way.

    Yeah, at least he's working.

The real scumbags were those two lawyer managers Tyson had for the Holy fight. Forget the names.

John Horne and Rory holloway, these guys claimed to be Mike's best friends/guys he can trust/"love" him meanwhile they were Don king lackies and took large percentages of Tyson's purses. Then when he fires them, they put lawsuits against HIM for breach of contract etc...

Yeah, Horne & Holloway were complete scum of the earth in my view. They didn't give a **** about Mike & were only interested in stealing from him, leaving him in financial ruin etc. King is the one who groomed these morons.

While Tyson was in prison between 1992-1995, King, Horne & Holloway spent Tyson's fortune, leaving with no choice but to go back with King.

I firmly believe Tyson was & wanted to go a different route when he emerged from prison, perhaps even hooking up with Kevin Rooney again. The decision to go back with King was purely financial. Day before his release, King pleaded with Tyson to have him on board once again.

Take the first Holyfield bout for instance. Tyson received $30,000,000. King took $9,000,000 for his share, Horne & Holloway were paid $3,000,000 each. Beefore you can say ****, that's half of Mike's purse gone before he's even paid any tax. ****ing ridiculous.

Does anyone know what Horne & Holloway are doing now? I'd love to see them in the gutter. They robbed Mike blind. I reckon Mike knew this for a long time too, but felt he had nowhere else to go, no one to turn to etc.

Of course, Tyson's own conduct, spending habits didn't exacltly help his financial predicament, but no doubt, he was robbed by the three conmen.

I dont believe this at all. Tyson ultimately was in control of his own destiny. Even after he got away from King, he continued to go down the same stupid path of poor behavior and spend all ways. He only started saying King was the horrible thief when he got his head handed to him twice by Holyfield.
The fact is Tyson was a big spoiled brat, who always wanted his way. He knew dam well what he was doing when he got out of prision, because King setup a bunch of bums as champs for him to fight, and he knew it was the path of least resistance to make a fortune. If he wanted to be a real fighter and cared about his legacy, he would have gone back to Catskill and went back to doing the things that made him a succesful fighter in the first place. Do you really think he went back to King because Horne and Hollaway spent all his money? Tyson was the biggest name in the sport, he could have made mega millions with Mother Theresa promoting him. I dont feel sorry for him at all, he is argueably the biggest waste of talent in sports history.

Tyson was actually still friends with Holloway later on. Holloway is standing near Tyson when he was going on his rampage during the press-conference for Lewis-Tyson in 2002.
