Anyone remember the floyd vs zab judah fight?

when you fight floyd in vegas you are fighting the entire establishment. The ref, the judges, everything.

 

4-2 Zab after 6 is favorable and finding a round after that, or even 2, is really difficult for me. 9-3 seems more reasonable than 7-5. The real cool part was seeing a whole half fight that was fought evenly with a prime Floyd. That was the novelty of the fight to me. 8-4 felt right for me. If you nitpick, it's a close fight, but if you zoom out and just look at it, at the end there's one man who has been figured out, beaten, and basically just going back to his old ways and it's Zab. Floyd destroyed him to the body and broke Zab down. Zab went back to his tactic of low blowing as well when he was soundly beaten. This fight wasn't that close. Maidana was probably closer in round count but FMJ never felt in trouble there how he did during those tense early exchanges vs. Judah. There were some tense speed vs speed firefights early on where Floyd got the short end, so he switched his gameplan and destroyed Zab on the inside and with power shots from afar. Zab's face and body were chewed up by the end and he was looking for a way out. This outcome was not controversial

 

I scored it Judah WDQ 10 over Floyd.

Roger Mayweather jumped in the ring before the round was over, started screaming at Zab, Roger had to be restrained, and then a riot broke out.

Corner men can't enter the ring before a round is complete and verbally assault one of the boxers and then start a riot.

 

It would mean as much as the montell griffin win vs Roy though.
On the other hand Floyd wouldnt have the 0 marketing and blueprint that is hurtong the sport till this day. He wouldnt have been so calculating and carefull if this fight or Castillo doesnt go his way.

 

I remember it as an 8-4 or 9-3 type of fight, with the uncalled KD. So the closest I would get is 115-112.

Zab hurt Floyd multiple times in the first half - and not his gonads, legal scoring areas.

People forget, as it got overshadowed by the melee with Yoel and Uncle Rog, but the first several rounds of that were interesting & competitive as hell.

 

This is the fight that erases any doubt in my mind that Ray Leonard nearly shuts out, it not completely shuts out Mayweather 12-0. Leonard was faster than Mayweather just like Judah was. Had longer reach. But unlike Judah he wasn't lacking in technical skill. There won't be a "figuring out" part of the fight. Leonard beats Mayweather as bad as he beats Benitez. It may even get punishing for Mayweather in the later rounds. Wouldn't rule out Mayweather's corner jumping into the ring to save him a trip to the hospital.

 

That isn't bad logic but you're forgetting that Zab unlike Ray was a southpaw (he could switch at times but it wasn't his forte). And while yes SRL was more skillful he wasn't quite as fast as Judah. It was the speed and being a lefty that gave Floyd problems more than anything else.

didn’t Ray Leonard struggle early on in the fight with Floyd Mayweather sr? Floyd jr is faster better defensively hits harder has a higher IQ. Why isn’t that fight an indication that Jr could beat leonard? It’s the same logic
