anyone remember the Rocchigiani case with the WBC?

    Just been reading over some old newspapers and found some stuff online.

    Jesus that Sulaiman really is one corrupt *******.

    the same organisation that goes about demanding boxers trunks, bring in diamond belts for catchweight fights and silver belts in order to line their coffers!!

    Wasn't a petition signed by current/ex fighters, TV execs and other prominent boxing people presented to him asking him to drop the case, in light of the work the WBC had done for boxing over the years?

    Don't know, the story I read was that the WBC made a settlement that was deemed good as he would have got far less than if they went burst!

    The twats only had themselves to blame. Makes a total mockery of the supposed top belt in boxing!

    Yeah I read that Rocchigiani was encouraged to settle out of court as the WBC would've went bust.

    They had to settle out of court which they did for an undisclosed sum. I remember the case quite clearly. If the WBC hadnt of done this they would have had to of filed for chapter 11 as the penalty imposed would have bankrupted them. All of this started because they basically handed the title to Roy Jones when "Rocky" was still the champ.

    That said Suliaman is nothing more than a slipper snake with a huge ego. I remember when he got involved in the fiasco surrounding Brodies fight with Chi. All Suliman cared about was a rematch so they could get another sanctioning fee. All he's self righteous meaderings over the fight as well as he's meddaling was completely inappropriate.

    Yep, I use that one as well but with the age group on here I wasn't sure how well people would understand it. Do people still know what a "bob" is?
