Where the guy who was dominating cats left and right, losing a total of probably 5 rounds total in the last 5 FIGHTS combined...suddenly looks way less effective then usual, and thus with all the hype SEEMS like hes losing. Up until the sudden knockout of darren barker this fight reminded me a ton of the pacquiao fight. You got the explosive southpaw who is supposed to have such a huge speed and power/combinations advantage yet suddenly the most memorable shots of the fight seem to be right hands from the less-busy fighter. Barker's winky-like style made martinez while busy, look ineffective and by expectations/comparison to his other fights...lose rounds. But like that fight, I also had the other southpaw winning the fight regardless. Fans outcry'd about that fight too. I scored the first 4 rounds a sweep for Pacquiao, 1/2/4 were easy pac rounds and pac stole round 3 at the end for me, landing the best punch of the night thus far. I saw nothing in the first 4 rounds to give JMM a round. I then had JMM winning the rest of the rounds except 6 which was an easy pac round, and the final 2 rounds which he let slip away. I had it 5-5 going into the last 2 rounds. 7-5 Manny Pacquiao Re-watching the fight on low-volume, without all the expectations and fluff, really does paint a different picture. Pac wasn't nearly as awkward as he SEEMED to look in the fight upon second viewing. He had a different look on his face then from the first two fights, where he looked clueless at times getting totally schooled. He looked like a guy who was just frustrated his punches werent quite coming together yet, not like one who had no options but to throw his 1-2 and get countered, much like the first 2 fights. He did alot of little things that werent seen. His defense was underrated, had some nice bodywork himself, and alot of short fast shots got through that honestly, you'd have trouble seeing in real time the first time. Mainly alot of clean right hooks. Marquez wouldnt look the way he did after the fight if manny was missing wildly with a whole lot of ineffective aggressiveness as some of the posters here would lead you to believe. That said, again, I had the fight even at 5 rounds a piece up until the last 2 rounds. I have no doubt in my mind if championship fights were still 15 rounds, Pac would have more convincingly pulled it out, being that he still looked fresh and began to come on a bit on the winding down JMM. But hey, this is boxing, where even if you're the best, if you take competitive fights, you WILL have nights where the wins will be completely ugly. Of course someone like floyd need not worry about this. For these *****s to be going around calling this a robbery and a clear schooling, its a joke. (especially with boxing's notorious robberies of the past) These are the same guys who created hundreds of "that was not a suckerpunch" threads after the ortiz fight, but REFUSED to ever mention the fight for "KO of the year" Complete hypocrite fanboys.
