A very promising young fighter who has flown almost completely under the radar.

Post your thought on his potential, and also anything relevant to the matches mentioned in the poll.

    Thanks!

Too green for me to answer your poll but he is a very very talented fighter. No doubt the future of the division. I would love to see him fight a quality fighter so I can see what he is really made of. I really didnt like the fact he turned southpaw. I think he should stick to his original stance and dominate fighters that way. Anyway, kid has a lot of potential. I wish him the best.

Since none is not an option, I selected Carl Froch, who is the most vulnerable of the bunch, but is still too good for Andre at this stage.

well in a year i know for a fact he would be able to beat Froch, Pavlik, and Taylor....but Bute N Kessler?, no dont see that, but we'll see

he's very very talented, but he has a shaky chin doesn't he?

I pretty much agree with all the posts in this thread.

Andre Ward has improved vast amounts since earlier in his career. He now fights at a world class pace, and has given away trying to be the next RJJ, which IMO led to his knockdowns and "shakey" chin. He works very well off his jab, and is now setting things up very effectively, breaking his opponents down, rarely getting tagged, then gradually opening up with combinations more and more as he figures his opponents out.

He appears to have become quite an intelligent fighter, one who technically has really tightenend up, and possesses the kind of handspeed that will give anyoen in the division trouble. He is also quite well rounded, and appears comfortable in most situations in the ring, whether being pressured or applying it himself.

I think he could definitely be a force in the division. All 5 of those match ups at this point are extremely hard to call though, as we need to see him step it up first.

I personally believe that guys like Froch, Pavlik, Bute are all very beatable for him, based on styles. His handspeed and boxing ability would cause all 3 of these guys big problems. Taylor and kessler would be a bit tougher, particularly Kessler. Still, with time who knows?

Definitely a fighter to watch though in the near future!

None right now. I'll wait til he steps up in 09 to see if he's ready for the top dogs.

i agree with most of this, except for the Bute part....how well will he do with a southpaw thats just a fast as he is? that could cause him lots of problems stylistically

but uhh.....aint he a LHW now? his fight the other day was at LHW atleast, i think that would be a smarter move aside from Dawson he shouldn't have any problems getting his hands on a belt

He hadnt shown a shaky chin so far, but he hasnt faced elite fighters or even top 15 level guys yets.....BUT if he has a decent chin and we dont know yet, it would beat all those fighters with a few more fights.
