I see what you're trying to imply here...I do kinda see the similarities here but I dont think Dirrell is that weak mentally like Judah. Ward will have problems Dirrell speed early on, but he will get his timing and his rythem before he turns it up on Dirrell...Ward seems to always take away his opponents streghts and negate them and impose his gameplan.
I see a flash KD early on for Dirrell, then a chess match that could very well end in a draw. I wanna see Dirrell advance though.
its american hype job v american hype job - which one will join alexander, dawson, and jacobs on the recent exposed list? :think
Interesting comparison. I always thought Dirrell would be a nightmare match up for Ward as was Zab for PBF. Both are mentally weak and both are faster than their opponents. We'll see if Ward like PBF can overcome his opponents who has the handspeed advantage and in Ward's case the better athlete as well.
With Ward already through to the semis I can only see him taking a safety first approach and I dont think Dirrel has the style to chase him and be the aggressor. Could be a boring 12 rounds.
The biggest hypejob vs hypejob match in this tournament was Kessler vs Froch. The second biggest will be Abraham vs Froch. Those fights have two things in common, both contain European fighters who were exposed by their "green" American counterparts Ward and Dirrell. And if Dawson is a hypejob, Adamek is an even bigger hypejob.
zab got faster hand speed but overall speed, floyd got judah whooped. lmao at the guy who claims wards and dirrell are hype jobs. Dirrell beat AA easy and froch only won bc the paid off judges. they are the two best in the tourny.
depends on your definition of hypejob herbzg to me a hype job is someone who recieves p4p acclaim without a resume to match. dirrell has fought 2 top sm's - lost to froch, won a dq with good acting skills against abraham ward has fought 1 top sm - beat kessler by hometown headbutting, yet many are placing ward top 7 p4p :rofl that is nowhere near enough to gain any p4p status that many are clamouring for on esb - the american passport helps. whilst i see your point in what you say, the likes of froch and kessler are never considered for p4p status anyway but have much more on their resume to qualify for that. froch - took pascals 0 - took dirrells 0 - beat taylor in taylors back yard - went life and death in kesslers backyard, a fight i thought he won kessler - beat beyer - beat mundine - beat andrade - fought a good fight against greatest super-mid ever - took froch's 0 - 3 time super mid champ do you see what i'm getting at in terms of 'hype-job'? i'm not even a fan of froch or kessler but i feel they have a much more solid resume than dirrell of ward, especially when ward thinks its ok to headbutt someone to death in his hometown. froch and kessler recieve very little credit anyway so are not hypejobs, yet ward and dirrell are hyped up to the high heavens by hbo / ring magazine puppets. in terms of abraham, i've not seen enough of him to truely assess him. dawson is a pretty good fighter but was hyped way beyond his means on here. hbo puppetts were making out he was number 3 p4p because he beat rocky actor tarver and went life and death with 14 defeat c-level gatekeeper glen johnson. i've always given dawson credit for beating a weight drained adamek but adamek has barely ever been near anyones top 10 p4p anyway and was clearly a much better cruiserweight, maybe heavyweight. i've never hyped adamek in the 1st place anyway and i wouldn't have described dawson as an american hype job anyway if people had of been putting him in his rightfull place as a 10-15 p4p fighter and not a top 3 p4p fighter.
I really think it'll play out like that fight. Dirrell being Judah, faster, southpaw, using awkward style to have the edge in the first few rounds but Ward, like Mayweaher, the mentally and probably physically stronger, starts to walk him down and systematically break him down in close.
