Saw that he won. Anyone else see the figh? Pretty dirty from reports i seen, how'd he look etc??? Missed it myself, alarm either wasnt heard or didn't go off...
He did alright against a rough crude guy but got sucked into a brawl for a lot of the fight. Fletch actually hurt the guy a few times with some straight right hands.
Good luck to him, albeit IMHO he ain't major world title material. I for life of me can't understand how he managed to score #3 now #4 in WBA's household. Golovkin will now be elevated to "Super Champ" leaving standard world title vacant.....which I doubt he'll get a chance to contest in immediate future....& possibly never.
I watched - it was a very close fight and could have gone either way - fletch had more skill but seemed to be fighting the wrong fight by abandoning t he jab and fighting on the inside - he suffered some ugly cuts from accidental head clashes - Bursak had two points deducted for fouls and was dirty all the way through. I actually thought it might be scored in Bursaks favour or a draw so was glad to see Fletch come away with the win.
Awful fight to watch. More clinches than a Greco Roman Olympic gold medal bout. But a win is a win for Fletch, although Bursak must be wondering how he let that one get away. Full fight on www All the best fights.com
Congrats to Fletcher on the win. But Bursak can't be the scalp he needed to get a world title shot. Fletcher's pro record is still skinny. Sam Soliman is the Aussie middleweight who deserves a world title shot, and unlike Fletcher he's got the pro record to prove it.
Terrible reffing and judging. Bursak was robbed. Both men looked decidedly average, and Max must carry a lot of the blame - he gave them the chance to rob him with this awful performance. Worst I have ever seen Bursak box.
A comparison was being drawn between Fletcher who the thread is clearly about and another fighter. Stock standard stuff :yep
