Just curious as Joe DeGuardia is filing a protest, and claiming Rodriguez was hosed. I like Delvin, he's a good B-level guy, and I heard he was jobbed twice to Isaac Hlatshwayo as well. Anyone got the real scoop, instead of the press release?
'ive seen it , fight was close but jackiewicz rightly won, rodriguez probably made a record in total number of missed punches in one night , he was hitin almost nothing but air all night , had jackiewicz on the canvas in 6th, but couldnt finisch the job and that was his only clearly won round , overall jackiewicz landed harder shots , was much more accurate and rocked rodriguez few times in a fight, was a good show
I saw it. I thought Rodriguez won, but it's a style thing. If you prefer a few harder punches landing a round, then Jackiewicz won. If you prefer lots of lighter punches landing a round, then Rodriguez won. It was sort of similar to Williams-Quintana I actually, only with both guys throwing about 20 fewer punches a round than their counterparts, and Jackiewicz never landed anything as powerful as some of the shots that Quintana landed. It was a bit of a tough luck loss (if the fight had been in Connecticut instead of Poland, he would have won), but it wasn't a robbery by any stretch, even though I did have it scored fairly widely for Rodriguez.
I'll agree with this. Judges look for different things. Jack did what the judges were looking for where as Rodriguez did not impress them. Both men fought a good fight according to their strategy but the judges gave Jack the nod. No robbery here just close
Close fight. 2 factors clinched it for jackiewicz. The homtown crowd, and the fact that many of rodriguez's shots were partially blocked due to jacks good guard. I feel bad for rodriguez, hed be a champ if he fought at 140 or 154 imo
I don't remember there being much outrage expressed by the fans who claimed to have watched it live. Promoters huffing and puffing isn't much of a red flag for me.
