I had the pleasure of being with them during the pro mo's for fight 1. Both were great guys & got on like they'd been friends for years in fact someone said Its hard to believe that on fight night they'll be trying to beat the heck out of each other. But thats exactly what they did. Paulie won the WBA title that night was happy for him & also saw that Johnny was right in there with him making it a very close fight. The same thing with the rematch another great fight razor close decision as Paulie successfully defended his WBA title. Two great guys Two great fighters R.I.P Johnny Tapia a great champion one of the greatest who was taken far two soon
