    No need for that really

  5. Dermot really asked some stupid questions, Tyson handled the questions very well and quite right to tell dermot to quit the talk about exodus.

I watched the live broadcasting of the interview this morning & at one point, I thought it was going to kick off.

Dermot Murnaghan tried to bring Mike down on numerous occasions. He is lucky this interview was not conducted some five, ten years ago, becausse if it was, Murnaghan would now be on sick leave from his job as a news reader.

The interview turned sour because of Murnaghan, not Mike! Murnaghan tried to put words into Mike's mouth by saying: "Is it now the case that you did the crime & you did the time?" Mike replied "No, its not the case because I did not committ the crime, but I did do the time".

Murnaghan then brought up Mike's comments following his win over Jesse Ferguson, which was some twenty three years ago. Mike's answer to that was "I made that comments when I was 19, 20 years old, some twenty-odd years ago. Are you still bringing things up that happened so long ago?" That made Murnaghan look like an amateur in his own prfession.

Murnaghan then had the cheek to try to talk about the passing of Mike's daughter, Exodus, which Mike quickly brought to an end, well within his right to do I might add. If Murnaghan or whoever handles the procedures of the interview had any intelligence, they would have seeked Mike's permission to talk about such a sensitive subject. They obviously did not do that!

Mike made some comments about Barry McGuigan, Barry's father, & Larry Holmes!

Guys like Murnaghan know NOTHING about Boxing & know very little about Mike Tyson. I would have done a job 100 times better than Murnaghan & many other out there if I had the chance to interview Mike Tyson!

i would not want to interview mike tyson. he wants to be nice BUT tyson will always be tyson. prod him too much and he will be irritated. he is simply too unpredictable.

people value his opinion because he is interesting but his favourite answer is 'i dont know'.

dermot did well cos tyson can make it incredibly awkward yet as an interviewer you have to move on to keep a flow.

  8. Brilliant summary mate. DM was truely awful, i haven't got the link or url but it was nearly as bad as 'this morning' presenter fern when she interviewed a bloke who spent like 20 years in jail in usa for a murder he didnt commit, this guy basically looked after a child on new yers eve and the baby was strangled to death and he got the blame and the murderer got away with it, it only came to light years later that he was innocent. Fern asked questions like 'do you regret baby sitting the child' of course he ****ing regretted it. 'Why didnt you admit to the death and you could have been let out after 15 years, you would have had 5 years of your life more that way' He wasnt guilty ffs so why would he admit it. Interviewers should be good at interviewing or they should stfu and just present t.v.
Ive noticed that interviewers seem to try and slip celebs up all the time just to get an exclusive nowadays.

these guttersnipes just want headlines and make a name for themselfs, if you think that twat of a interviewer was a ***** on air, check out his comments after mike left and some of the newspaper headlines, you'd think Mike literally assaulted and raped him live on air.

Was proud of Tyson for keeping his cool.....interviewers will drag up things from the past all the time. Tyson admitted he was in a dark place, the interviewer is not a psychologist so he cant know what he means by that or what he was feeling.

Loved him saying to Dermot - "We dont know about you Dermot, we just see you on here every day. We dont know how you will respond in adversity" He was spot on.

I never rated Tyson, always preferring the consistency of Holyfield, the skill of Lewis etc. He was on top fighter I would say.

Strangely, since his retirement I've grown more willing to recognise his ability and accomplishments. The fleeting moment yesterday when pressed on comments he made as a 20 year old where he grew irritated still chilled the blood.

    No electricity like Tyson electricity

    Thanks for that dude.

I hate the way he tries to make tyson out to be a monster at every moment, even at the end when he politely shook his hand when mike blatently didn't even grip it tightly.

I've always thought Mike didn't commit the **** he was charged with and this interview has confirmed it, you can tell by the way he talks about it.
