Yeah, I was surprised as hell. He made a real good account of himself and did a good job handling the questions thrown at him. Such as "are the Heavies losing top athletes to other sports? Floyd fighting MMA? The State of the HW division? etc." He did a good job overall of handling loaded questions and he announced he will be doing a big charity deal for troubled kids where people can make donations on his website and Your name will be on his robe for the ring walk with all the proceeds going to needful children (I think he said from the Bronx?).

He was on there for a good 5 minutes talking up boxing. Good job Wlad.

I missed it, I would of liked to of seen it though. His personality will never generate the american fans needed to get the divsion popular again, his fighting style isnt exactly that exciting anymore either.

Wlad is the man: a rare story in boxing. And once he unifies, coupled with his unusually high education, charitable work and well spoken manner, he'll start to attact more mainstream attention to heavyweight boxing, once again.

Jim Rome, now, but once he unifies..................Jay Leno, John Stewart, David Letterman, CNN, MSNBC, etc.

    Count on it.

Wlad probably won't get to unify till he's 35-36, by then he'll be on the cusp of retirement unless he wants to do a Holyfield and Foreman.

You are delusional as hell, noone really is even watching this fight in America. He is fighting for the WBO title, which has always been a joke title to begin with. I know your a huge Wlad nuthugger, but come on Heavyrighthand, get your head together. Wlad is not the type of Heavyweight that Americans will clamor for, were still waiting on a Tyson like fighter, not a fighting robot with no chin.

i disagree, i think heavyright was on point. its easy to see that wlad, if he unified and dominated, would be a very popular champion worldwide and would be a great ambassador for boxing.....plus, he can breakdance.

Im not debating wether he would be popular in Europe or not, Im sure he already is. He just doesnt have the american swagger that people want to see, he also doesnt have the most attractive fighting style lately either, jab and grab has never been exciting to watch. I understand boxings a global sport, but ask the average American in the bar whos the champ, you will get more people saying Lewis than Wlad, and I do see that changing anytime soon, even if Wlad captures the WBO belt on Feb 22.

Yeah, cause the world needs more gansta wannabes boxers instead of generous, charitable, wholesome, role model boxers..................

Do you have any kids yet? What kind of impression would you want to give them of a professional prizefighter? A ex-convit, racist thug like Hopkins? A convicted ****** like Tyson?

Fighters like Wladimir Klitschko, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfied, George Forman, Joe Louis, etc. are much better for the sport.

    Grow up already.

Wlad starts unification against Sultan, it'll be the closest thing to a unified HW champion we'd had in a long time. It'll be enough to bring back the casual boxing fans I'm sure.
