    Fred Apostoli
    Freddie Steele
    Al Hostak
    Solly Kreiger
    Ken Overlin
    Vince Dundee
    Teddy Yarosz
    Marcel Thil
    Gorilla Jones

    ..... Or any other prominent 30s middleweights/title holders ?

These guys are rarely discussed. They VERY RARELY get mentioned among the all-time greats lists by historians or boxing history enthusiasts.

I dont know why. Some of them boast some impressive records. Billy Conn reckoned Apostoli was his toughest opponent. I've read Freddie Steele was a terrific boxer, Hostak a vicious puncher. Etc. etc.
