Look at these guys absolutely dominating weight lifting, they have tremendous athletes.

Just wonder what could've been had boxing been an integral part of Chinese sports culture as is weight lifting and table tennis.

Just look at Lu Xiaojun, what a tremendous athlete that is, absolutely breathtaking.

they dont seem to be able to produce top class boxers, the only elite amatuer they have had is Zou Shiming and there amatuer boxing squad seems to have got worse since 2008. There obviously going too be very poor in the pro ranks at the moment as they have only recently started letting there amatuers go pro. Also weightlifting is a very one dimensional sport, all you need is strength and technique, its not like boxing where you need to be a more well rounded athlete

Not really. Nations that love boxing and have a history and tradition of it seem to produce more quality boxers (understandably). I've never really thought of China as a nation that has a great love of boxing.

Theres so many of them, asians in general.

Chinese always near top of Olympic medal tables.

I think there smart enough to choose a sport where you dont get punched in the mouth

To be fair, Xiong Zhao Zhong snagged the WBC strap at straw-weight, defeating a quite heavily favored Denver Cuello to win. But China really hasn't produced much in the way of top quality fighters until very recently.

I'm surprised they aren't dominating more sports in general
