Anyone surprised that Usyk totally outshone Lomachenko?

I don't disagree that hydration and gaming it has an impact but Usyk just beat a man who outweighed him by over 50 lbs! That's the difference between featherweight and light heavyweight. Fury is the definition of a weight bully, just that he luckily fights in an uncapped class.

Agreed it is an exceptional feat.
Full credit to Usyk for all of it!

just making the distinction of the
lower weight classes. & why pound for pound ever became a thing.

    they are both fantastic fighters
No reason to poo poo one to uplift the other.

Usyk is probably the only boxer from the other side that I have seen finish strong and try to get the KO. It seems like people who stay long in the amateurs or maybe just boxers from the other side don’t have any urgency. I’ll never understand how Loma had so many close decisions and decided to slow down the last two rounds against Haney. Yes I still thought he won but he coulda took it out of the judges hands.

Loma is still better and much more skilled. P4P he’d beat the crap out of Usyk

There are plenty of advantages of being a 220lb man against 260lb men. There are no advantages of being a 126lb man against 135lb men.

    People need to remember this

So he supposedly ran and yet still hurt Teo more than Teo hurt him

Great post except I prefer watching Usyk. Everything you said is spot on though. You sleep with the devil, you get dirty. Loma went to the US, hooked up with the Shyster, looking for money and fame, his legacy was never going to remain unscathed. He accomplished great things but left the door open for the vampires. He didn't dominate his legacy defining fights enough to not be robbed. He wasn't the greatest finisher in fights, most of the time. Take the Comey fight for example, he's motioning for the ref to stop the fight, Comey continues multiple rounds until the final bell? He was too small for lightweight and only got by on his phenomenal skill.
Usyk has more dog in him than Loma and can reverse the course of a fight better than Loma can. However there is no question that if Usyk had campaigned primarily in the US as Loma did, he would not still be undefeated. He would have been jobbed at some point. Loma also had the US house fighters in the opposite corner which didn't help!

Usyk has greater intangibles I believe. You can entertain the discussion about the depth and overall quality of lower weights versus higher weights, or about the different flavours of boxing establishment corruption both of them faced, but in both AJ and especially both Fury fights, Usyk seemed to push harder than Loma did in all three of his losses

Lomachenko is the single most overrated fighter of my lifetime and I'm 95 or 96 can't remember. Fake 500-5 record, no amateur has as many fights till age 25. First sign of trouble loses to Salido, then loses to green inconsistent guys like Lopez, Haney. Best win: Linares a has been, Walters or Campbell a never been, Rigo a midget never showing up?

Usyk cleaned out two hard divisions on the road, very difficult CW tournament, how do you think Loma would've fared in a Gervonta, Haney, Lopez Super Series? Already lost to two, probably loses to Davies. Then Usyk fights much bigger heavies like Dubois, AJ & Fury and comes away 5-0 on enemy ground. Lomachenko a top P4P-er & HOF-er was a media lie his resume doesn't back up. Usyk is genuine and has an unbeaten record full of names to show for.

Exactly this, on paper I expected Loma to be greater with his pedigree so I'm impressed to how their careers turned out.
Those robberies aren't light on da' heart tho so I can't blame Matrix that much

What you say is partly true, but that is boxing. The best have some edge.

Roy Jones only won because he was faster than his opponents.

Georgie Foreman won because he hit harder. ...

Somebody said, Usyk only wins because he has better endurance.

That's how it is. The greats have some edge and use it.

How then he couldn't beat the crap out of Salido, Lopez, Haney, went life and death against Linares? Each of them are leagues below Usyk

That's like asking how come Oscar couldn't beat Tito, or how come GGG couldn't beat Canelo or how come Kovalev couldn't beat Ward, or how come Pea couldn't beat JCC or how come ....
