This is ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS. Period.

PBF knows how to market himself... and he knows that doing this **** and then getting "called out of retirement" for one more super fight (Hello... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$) will make him the most money any fighter has ever received. Trust me... this is what he's after. He is all about who has the most toys, etc.

TRUST ME... he will fight again and this is nothing more than a great marketing ploy.

    :deal

He already has a big money fight on the table in September. I don't see how leaving that so that he can be called out for another big money fight makes all that much sense. The biggest money fight out there is the one he has.

I agree. Mayweather is pretty much full of **** at the best of times. There's no way he'll stay retired.

it kind of makes sense cause if oscar find another opponent to beat sept. then that will be 2 fights before his last farewell fight and that would be against mayweather and it will be lots of money then mayweather will get his ass kicked in the spring of 09 against cotto

I agree, its all ploy on Floyd's part to get a bigger share from Oscar. But I question whether or not Oscar will give in to this.

If he is really retired, then he truly deserves to be called Fraud Gayweather.

C'mon folks... this one's as easy to spot as Pamela Anderson is on an empty street.

Surprised at the number of people here that are actually falling for this bull****. :huh

Just remember Floyd's thinking... "Greed is good".

Dude is 31 already, in boxing that's like 50 years old
Maybe he just plain don't feel like he has it anymore.
could have been a feeling he was getting settting up
to enter training camp for De La Hoya, Maybe he realised
that this time around Oscar was gonna want it more than him.

but in all honesty I think dude has called it quit's for good.
If he truly thinks IHOM he has nothing to prove, I belive it's over.

    Peace Floyd.

this ain't some post fight ramble.

this is a prepared statement and a multi million dollar fight kicked into touch.

stick a fork in this one. :yep

I think he's retired for good unless a real megafight comes along. If DLH and Hatton arn't mega fights for him(hes retired), it would have to be something huge to bring him back....

If that's true, he should stay retired. No need Mayweather pricing himself out of meaningful fights.

beating the winner of Cotto/Margo at the moment isnt going add much to his overall legacy.

He's money motivated, as we see mega buck fights with DLH or Hatton don't interested him! It would have to be a huge fight to get him back.

Well, that's just your opinion. One I don't think many will agree with. Despite winning the World Title @ 147, he still hasn't done much there at all. He beat the weakest WW champ ever, and hasn't even defended it properly. Beating Cott or Margarito changes that greatly. If he stays retired, he'll be remembered for his reign @ 130 & 135. Beating the top guys @ 147 adds that to it.
