If the rematch goes ahead, is there anyone who thinks that this time De La Hoya can beat Mayweather , if he has Floyd Mayweather Sr in his corner?

He's one year older and if the fight's at 147, he will probably be weight drained. Either way, he loses. :good

He can, if he continues to throw the jab and doesn't tire.

No. DLH should retire if he cant fight anybody his own size.

he tired himself out when he was younger (unless i'm completely mistaken) because of how tense he is all the time, so that's not gonna change.

I forgot where I read this, so sorry about lack of source, but it showed that De La Hoya actually threw as many if not more jabs in 7-12 as he did in rds 1-6. It comes down to by that point the jab was no longer effective of PBF because he had figured it out and made the appearance that ODH had abandoned the jab.

    Really?

I'll have to review the fight. I was under the impression that DLH abandoned it. Everyone said he did. I was fooled, if that is the case.

Oscar has reached the point in his career where he needs to adhere to the old management principle of: "Lead, follow, or get the f**K out of the way".

The fight will be super big money again, and Oscar will lose by decision,
    pre-ordained or not.

i think he did abandon the jab. I would have to see the punch stats to believe it.

I do give Oscar a chance the first fight was close and i dont see how having a better trainer on your side wouldnt help the chances of him winning.

i would say he has a 30% chance of winning. He will probably still tire later on so i doubt he could pull it off unless he wins almost all the first half of the fight and his popularity might push him into a victory.
