Ok. I agree with you, that's what he has to do. Bute has an excellent timing, probably better than Johnson. It's one of his biggest assets. For me, he has the speed and timing advantage. I can't see how the Johnson of today can win against Bute.

He has enough of a shot for me to put money on him.

If Andrade can find Bute then so can Johnson. Johnson punches you while he pressures remember, all Andrade does is come at you like a zombie.

Johnson is good against southpaws. Dawson, Tarver, etc. All at lhw, all bigger hitters than Bute.

I can definitely see Johnson stopping Bute. It's almost hard for me to not see it. Johnson has his losses but he's been operating on a MUCH higher level than Bute lately. All his recent fights have been close/competitive against much better/more proven opposition.

I see this as Showtimes '**** you' to Bute for sitting out and a reward to Johnson for putting his ass on the line to save their tournament. Yeah, i said it. I think Bute's being set up to lose here.

Um, he got knocked out by the quintessential pressure fighter in Andrade.

Roy Jones was also faster with 'better footwork' (not sure that means wat you think it does though).

Johnson's stamina has failed him about half way through two of his last three fights. He gassed against Cloud, and again against Froch. If Johnson gasses he doesn't have a chance. If he has a full tank it is a winnable fight for him.

I used to think Johnson was going to close the distance on Bute and employ his pressure and superior timing onto Bute's sometimes weak guard, but then my friend (also an amateur boxer who originally taught be the basics) made me change my mind.

He talked a lot about Bute's footwork, and how he's basically used to employing lateral movement on an aggressor. The way he walks fighters into his left to the body by moving left and baiting them (similar to what Pacquiao sometimes does) he thought could particularly effective on Johnson, whose guard is very protective of his chin but can create blind spots like the right side of the body.

He also talks about when Johnson has success. It seems that Johnson has success "taming" awkward fighters, like Froch or Green. He can close the distance and create openings by exploiting his opponents unorthodox positioning, setting up that chopping over hand right or a left to the body. Bute is much more conventional, and might be able to beat Johnson doing what he always does.

I'll have to re-watch their most recent significant fights and analyze them again, and I do hope Johnson pulls off the upset, but the points made to me convinced me for now that Bute could outland him.

Bute got knocked down, not knocked out. You should be able to make the difference if you pretend to be a boxing fan.

Bute was ill that night. Have you forgotten the rematch?

This particular fight showed to all the world that Bute have stamina problems. Since we saw a lot more fight of Bute in Québec, we know that he wasnt himself. That being said if Bute's opponent and boxing fans around the world take the Andrade I fight to prepare themselves and predict fight, I think its an advantage for Bute. Each time since then the opponent of Bute talk to the media, he always come back to this fight and each time, they are very surprise for what they see in the ring.

I say, let them think that Bute have a bad stamina and dont like pressure, they will just have to see it by themselves.

Johnson is getting KO'd for the first time here. (Hops "KO" wasn't a real KO)

umm I do recall Bute was ill before the fight.. but i think it was a combo of that and not being focused on his opponent..

Yes the rematch he was strong and took Andrede out..

The Johnson fight I look for Johnson to weigh in at 168 and bluk back up to 175-179

Bute may do the same.. he is a big SMW...

comes down to whos gas tank gets drained first and can Bute handle Johnson overhand right.. I saw magee hit im clean.. wasent sure it was a right had but if it was... a right from Johnson may be something difficult for Bute to handle.. especially one he doesn't see...

on the Otherside of the coin.. Bute gets in those Body shots, its gonna be a quick night for Johnson.. he is the road warrior but Bute has those nasty body shots like Cotto used to have.. but Bute's are direct bombs to the body..

So im going for Johnson but not sure he has enough to take it to Bute for a full 12...

I think Johnson has a chance via late round KO.
