If Mosley has anything left he can and will give Alvarez a lot to think about , this just may be the fight that people sit up and realise that Canelo Alvarez is very very over rated , personally i think its a bad fight for the kid Scenario 1 - Mosley has enough left in the tank to trouble Alvarez and grows into the fight as it goes on , Alvarez's gas tank runs out on him and has him taking a razor thin decision / or he loses a close decision fading late in the fight , a dull affair with neither man overly impressing , Saul Alvarez W Shane Mosley UD 114 - 111 or Shane Mosley W Saul Alvarez UD 113 - 112 Summary - Alvarez is the loser , as he cannot even beat an old faded WW and looks poor overall / Shane Mosley is the new WBC 154 lb champion and duly retires Scenario 2 - Alvarez is clearly the bigger man and has it all his own way with an old looking shot Mosley , round 7 Nazim Richardson pulls Shane out after he ships too many big shots , Saul Alvarez W Shane Mosley 8 RTD Summary - Alvarez is the loser as he batters an old Shane Mosley Scenario 3 - Alvarez blows Shane away in 3 rounds with superior power and multiple KD's , Saul Alvarez W Shane Mosley TKO 3 Summary - Alvarez is the loser as he batters an old Shane Mosley , further padding his already padded looking unbeaten record Anything the kid achieves against Shane Mosley will be criticised , IF and its a big IF , Shane has absolutely anything left , he can give Alvarez some problems i think he may find hard to deal with , just a hunch
Also a size difference will help Alvarez, Shane fought last time like a guy who knows he's got some top notch ***** at home. He's comfy with life that's not good for a fighter at times..
Maybe some but not much. I expect he actually will be the 1st to stop the old man (late), Holmes vs Ali style. Shane is done.
I'm more interested to see how Brother Nazim performs at the post fight presser. Will he stay on his feet? Or take a nap ?
Shane's last punch was thrown in Rd 2 against Mayweather, Mayweather was still standing and then Mosley decided to retire from boxing. Even though he is retired, he still takes fights and tries to last the distance, even against Mora dead). Mosley will ensure this goes 12 rounds and will be completely negative and disinterested causing one of the most boring fights of the year.
To be fair vs. Mora he was the one pressing the action. In a particularly ineffective, difficult to watch style yes it must be said but he did force the fight that night.
No he didn't , he jabbed and clinched ala Hopkins , and threw the very occasional back hand / combo , rounds 1 - 4 he actually looked ok , it was beyond this he started to look sloppy and short of fitness and stamina , not good for a fighter who relies on his athleticism In his defence Mora is equally as awkward to fight as anyone out there , and he's really a MW , i thought Shane took an idiotic fight with Mora and was nearly made to pay the ultimate price by losing the fight IMO the draw was a just result
No he looked awful but he was the one looking to make it a fight. I actually had Mora winning but it was his negativity and unwillingness to throw punches which cost him the fight. I thought Shane lost the first 6 rounds vs. Mora from memory. He was off key all night.
I seem to remember having Mosley ahead 3 - 2 after 5 when it became a bit of a mess with Mora taking the majority of the latter rounds I scored the fight a draw myself
I have no intention to either. That's why I said from memory in that previous post, because I couldn't bare to revisit it :good
I dunno, to me Mosley's timing looks pretty far gone. Aside from that infamous second round against Mayweather, whenever he's actually let some punches go they really haven't looked like coming close to landing. Lately Alvarez has shown that he can counter a bit, against Fonzo and Cintron he executed the right hand coming off of the shoulder roll quite well, and with Mosley's tendency to paw with his jab for the majority of the fight mixed with his now non-existent reflexes I can see him getting clocked with quite a few. Assuming he'll actually allow himself to be in range for this fight, that is. I'm not sure that a stoppage will come, though I can see Alvarez taking the vast majority of the rounds. For what it's worth I thought Mora got robbed against Splenda Shane, though there's no way I'm re-watching it to see if that's still the case. I hate that ''negativity'' can be something that works against you nowadays though, despite the fact that your work done in a round should dictate that you've taken it under correct scoring criteria.
