Anyone think Pacquiao vs Mayweather not happening March 13th was planned.

March 13th was always adventurous. All the biggest fights throughout history have had years of build up and negotiations behind them. Plus months of promition when the fight got made.

The whole steroids thing has made the fight even bigger to the public and both fighters have another big win to come off and can cal themselves the number 1 and 2 P4P and Welterweight without any real debate.

If that was the plan then they have over-egged it. People I know who were previously interested couldn't give a **** now...i'm one of them.

They were still apparently negotiating 4-6 weeks before March 13th when it was obvious that fight that big would have to be promoted over months, not weeks.

The fight was dead in the water mid January (at the latest) IMHO.

If anything, the fight is worth less and less with each passing month. Despite dominating Mosley, Mayweather was utterly dull. Despite dominating Clottey, it was still a horribly one-sided, undramatic fight.

The momentum that came with Pac's great win over Cotto has dissipated.

Casual observers think both are greedy, petulant or that Pac's on drugs. That's ****ing shameful for the sport. Floyd does it more damage every day.

I do often think this. I think they wanted to drum up further hype, further animosity, further rivalry... all leading to further rupees.

As long as it happens I will think it. 5 months between cotto-pacquiao and march 13th was never enough for such a mega fight especially for the hyping of it etc. But if they don't fight, I will just think they were 2 stubborn but great boxers who have let their sport down

Yep, I never thought for a second that they would fight in March. Far too good to be true.

Can't be assed to go and find it but know that I posted that this wouldn't happen till November way back before the fight was ever called off. Due to the elections it was always going to happen this way and of course the fight will now be worth more. All just theatrics!!!

March was never ealistic. Not enough time to promote it but more than that Fred didn't want it that quick. He had previously said that he needed more time to work out a game plan. I thought it was purposely delayed back then and that it would definately happen down the road but I'm not as convinced anymore. Has got boring now as well. :-(

I don't think it will ever happen. Floyd doesn't fight 'live' fighters.
