Anyone tired of hearing the word "exposed" anytime a young fighter loses?

    I am.

I don't think Pavlik was "exposed" in the sense that he was some hypejob. Hopkins simply "exposed" some of his weakneses, which all fighters have. Heck, you could say Calzaghe, Taylor, and RJJ "exposed" Hopkins because Hopkins struggles with guys with natural hand speed. I still think Pavlik is the class at MW.

    Please vote.

Honestly, I'm far more tired hearing people complain about it.

The only thing that really gets exposed is the posters ignorance.

You have to use the word "exposed". It isn't a harmful word to use unless the word is used with venom. Exposed or he exposed a guys flaws has to be said.

The result of this fight was a matter of differences in style, versatility and experience. You also had a good point on the following:

Hop exposed Pav. People said Mora exposed Forrest. What happened in the rematch? Like if I said Tony Lopez exposed Joey Gamache, he truly exposed him. You can't say that about every fight. Sugar didn't expose Tommy. Duran didn't expose Leonard the first fight. There is such a thing as a wrong game plan, and then being exposed. Pav was exposed, but he lasted the distance, learned a lot, and will hopefully be a better fighter for it.

Good post. Pavlik was definately exposed in this fight. He's still young though. It's not too late for him to improve.

If Pavlik was truly exposed, he would and SHOULD lose to more people. He just lost to Hopkins. Last I looked, losing to someone like Hopkins IS NOT being exposed. Unless you think just anyone cold and would do to Pavlik what Hops did. THAT is what being exposed is. Not just losing to one guy.

I think his ability to cope with a smart counter puncher was exposed a little in a way, but not everyone is a good at Hops at that. If you catch my drift.

Yeah, I prefer to say he was provided a learning experience

A lot of areas of his game were exposed.

    He looked really slow.

He didn't close distance too well.

His famed jab was taken apart by Hopkins, and he was even outjabbed.

    His defence was not good.

He wasn't as strong as previously thought, people claimed he would breeze through the weights with no problem.

Most importantly, no plan B whatsoever and his corner were exposed as horribly inept.

There were no real positives other than he was proud, and took his beating well. Back to 160 and back to the drawing board.

What's been exposed are all the guillable, bandwagon, nuthugging, ignorant posters on here that no nothing about styles or match-ups.

IMHO, Paul Williams is a similarly overhyped fighter with many flaws. I think the big difference though is that I don't believe Williams camp actually believes there own hype and are smart enough to keep Paul out of unfavorable match-ups. The crazy thing is that PW has already been exposed by a pretty good club fighter in Quintana but people are still in denial about it. Like Pavlik, the guy is plodding, predictable, has no defense, and can't box worth a ****. If he ever has the balls to step into the ring with a true tactician, he'll lose and he and his camp probably know it.

Usually when the shriekers are shrieking "EXPOSED!" I'm the guy sitting calmly in the background going "Well, not really. I told you they weren't really elite..."

True of Diaz, Pavlik, Peter, Katsidis, Darchinyan, Taylor, Miranda, Arce, Ibragimov...

And that doesn't take away any credit from the guys that shattered the illusions. These fighters are all pretty good, just not great. The only exposure is in the eyes of those gun-jumpers who saw greatness where there was only prettygoodness.

Why do you always hate on Paul Williams? It seems like you **** on the guy every chance you get.
