Im full gettin the itch to get back into trainin and been thinkin bout checkin out the the NS pcyc as the times for the senior trainin is good for me and i can go on my way home for work which will cut out the risk of me comin home, gettin lazy and not wanting to go back out and train.

Anyone trained over there?? any good? what are the trainers like etc etc??

I used to train there back in the 90s - it was good then but I haven't been back there since 2000...I don't know what their set up is like now - I assume they must have had renovations of some sort over the last 9 years?

They had a ring in the back room and 3 or 4 heavy bags and speedballs, and another room on the other side of the hallway with more heavy bags and skipping space.

Old Tony was the head trainer, but I dunno if he's still there - he was a bit rattled in the head, used to go off his head at you if you used sparring gloves on the bags, even if they were your own - grumpy old ****

You living over that way now Sam?

Yea , I had the same trainer who didn't let us use the big sparring gloves on the bags, but insisted we used the mits so we don't soften the gloves too much to minimise impact during sparring, but you actually improve your power when you carry big gloves and not small ones.

I train at the Wing Chun gym near Central on Elizabeth St - its not boxing sure, but the trainers there incorporate boxing into what they teach. It's a great mix of everything really. It's actual full contact not that pretty looking form **** either fyi

Yeah i had a look on the pcyc website and saw he was the trainer there.... seems like he'd have some decent knowledge due to his pro career....
