Obviously this is a far more difficult place for British fans to reach than if the fight were in Copenhagen. Froch is still hoping for a change of venue but if the fight does take place in Herning (and no, I'd never heard of it either!!) this is pretty much the only way to do it without a huge expense of car hire or long distance taxi and/or taking ages off work

Fly direct from Stansted to Billund airport with Ryanair. There are two flights a day. Billund is 60kms from Herning and there is no rail link. There is a direct bus link(two buses a day from the airport to Herning) but these don't really connect with the flights very well, if at all.

The way I plan to do it is fly to Billund late afternoon and stay in Billund on the friday night. It's then easier to catch a bus to Herning the next morning although the journey is two hours with a change at either Grindsted or Silkebourg.

Stay in Herning after the fight.

Return to Billund(changing once again at Grindsted) Sunday afternoon on one of four buses running that day in time for the 10pm flight back to Stansted.

    Sorted!!

I really hope they change the venue.I cant understand why the Danes are doing this,it could be a huge event in Copenhagen with loads of traveling fans but they seem determined to have a much smaller crowd. Its stupid to expect people to have to mess about like that.

A long way. Herning is in the west whereas Copenhagen is in the east, with a large stretch of water between in a car ferry

Dave, your cunning plan has every chance of being scuppered when you turn up on Saturday morning to catch the bus only to find several thousand Froch fans all with the same idea and trying to cram onto a 40 seater. If the fight is in Herning then i'm not going to bother.

Don't blame you at all. Sad that a major tournament you got the promotional team of Kessler acting up and putting fight in a smaller venue. It's complete stupidity and kick in nuts for the super six. The Atmosphere in Copenhagen would be rocking and create a even better fight.

    That is so ****!

Ive got a mate who lives in Copenhagen. It would have been a £60 flight (return) free board and a five minute cab ride to the venue.

    Im gutted.

I'm still hoping Froch gets his way and it lands in Copenhagen. Will go either way mind but it will be way, way better for us.

If it was in Copenhagen maybe 1000 would go. If in Herning perhaps a few hundred. I can see your point but if couple hundred trying to get on a bus those who didn't get on would pool together in taxis which would normally be expensiv e with just one passenger.

Anyway, I won't be catching the bus from Billund airport, but from Billund town centre as will stay in Billund the friday night

I was bang on going to Copenhagen but there's no chance at all of me going to Herning - sounds like a logistical nightmare to reach and once you get there there's absolutely nothing to do.

Stupid, stupid idea for a venue by the sounds of it.

So glad I didn't book flights to Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago.
