I can remember seeing this bird on during the day time. I must of only been a baby sometimes, because I can remember just randomly lying on the carpet, staring at the tv.

I loved Fight Night.

One stand-out memory for me from the time is Najib Daho fighting for the IBF title, at lunch time! As far as I remember anyway... What was that shown in the middle of, World of Sport maybe?

Number of title fights that ITV have shown since that fight where neither fighter has been british? I'm guessing zero. It's possible they will again, but highly, highly unlikely.

 

I don't remember this tv era being quite so good as a lot of the ITV programmes were regional and there seemed to be nowhere near as much in the then TVS region where I was/am...that is unless I've really, really messed up.

I can remember watching that fight with my older brother. He had came in absolutely hammered from a Saturdays nights drinking, sat down and said "see if you don't wake me up when the fight starts, I'm kicking your head in" Two seconds later he's zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, out like a light. So with Holyfield and Bowe now in the ring I start to slap and try to awake the drunken beast, hit him with everything but the ****er was out of it. Turned out he missed an eventful fight and he's never forgiven me since. Hahah!!

Moral of the story there, don't drink too much before the BIG FIGHT!!
