The more I watch the first fight, the most sure I am it will have no bearing on the this one. They aren't the same fighters.

 

exactly, you cant base your analysis on that fight alone, you have to consider a lot of factors that happened leading to the upcoming fight. They both have changed significantly, not to mention the size they are in right now. We will find out who suits the current weight better.

Why are people gauging how Pac or JMM would perform in this fight on how both performed against different opponents when both recently faced a common opponent in MAB.

Many were saying that if Pac would fight JMM the way he fought MAB, he would be in trouble. Apparently, because he failed to dominate MAB like in their first fight, he is already slipping. Yet if you actually look at the stats, Pac outlanded MAB more than 2 to 1 in all departments.

On the other hand, in the JMM vs. MAB fight, the punch stats were actually almost equal. Regardless how fantastic JMM looked (probably in form), he was receiving the same amount of punihment that he was belting.

This may not tell us anything about how the fight would turn out tomorrow but using JMM's performance against Juarez and Pac's against MAB as a point of reference is erroneous.

Each fighter have probably the equal chance of defeating the other but from the betting odds (I hope that whoever did those numbers had thoroughly studied this), it looks like Pac has the edge.

 

its hard to compare their performance against MAB simply because MAB had different strategies for both opponents. With JMM he was more like the usual MAB that we know, he engages in brawls and then tries to pick you apart from the outside. He was "game" when he fought JMM..actually sending Jmm to the canvass. He was there to fight!
Unfortuantely it cant be said when he fought PAC...he was there to survive and not get KO'd.. thats what he was bragging about during the post fight interview.

 

Both Pac and MAB disappointed in their second bout.

Mab's main goal was to show the world the first fight was a fluke and there was no way PAC would be able to repeat his first performance against a prepared Barrera. And judging by all the pre-fight claims that Pac was going to destroy MAB by devastating early KO, I guess MAB somewhat proved his point.

Pac on the other hand, did not press the issue enough. Even though Mab's focus was on surviving there were plenty of opportunities
where Pac did nothing. When asked by some reporter why he didn't take more chances during some of the toe to toe exchanges(which where plenty by the way), Pac's response was that he still respected MAB's power and did not want to get caught with somethig(I'm paraphrasing)

MAB did not come to the second fight looking to win, he came to not get KOed and humiliated. It takes 2 to make a fight, MAB wanted no part in that and still got beat.

My point was that considering their performances, they both disappointed.
