Anyone watch the Korobov fight?

I watched the last few rounds on yahoo boxing.He won evry round but wasn't especially impressive.

wasn't particularly impressive, did show some lapses here and there in his defense. But boy EVERY PUNCH he throws is a BANGER. goodness grief, he's got that real good balance and those real accurate hooks, he's really something special. His oponent had a pretty nice chin

 

Easy win, but I think it's too easy of matchmaking. Korobov looked like he was going through the motions because fighting at this level is too easy for him; he can be sloppy and still dominate.

It's time they step up his competition. Dude's more than ready for it.

 

These cans he's fighting are a waste of time. As a world class amateur he already fought and beat better opposition.

 

Exactly. I can understand fighting a couple cans to look good so he can generate some buzz for those who aren't familiar with him, but he's good enough right now to do that vs a significantly higher level of competition. He's not learning anything new against what he's facing now and frankly, it puts him in danger of developing bad habits in the future if he doesn't fight someone who's at least good enough to keep him honest.

 

He didn't look as good as his other fights. His opponent mostly just shelled up and seemed intent on just trying to make it out of the fight without getting knocked out.

 

I remember in the final round the commentator (I was watching it on Yahoo! Sports) saying how Korobov could probably have knocked him out if he wanted to but it looked like Matt was just trying to get his rounds in. Seemed accurate to me.
