Great main event. Clay needs to cut his hair. I honestly think he caught some of those shots because he couldn't see them coming.
Actually there was a bunch of great fights tonight...it seems guys know if they bring it and be entertaining they will be rewarded.....and I agree about Clay's hair...that has to be a distraction. Huerta should get the next title shot...he showed great chin, heart and skill to finish Guida...I don't think think anyone has finished Guida before... the guy is non stop....very entertaining to watch.
I thought it was an awesome card. The only thing disapointing was Dana's announcement at the very end, which I knew about a week ago. It was kind of like having the best sex of your life, and just as you're about to finish, the girl says she's got to go to work. Way to go, Dana. I think he just gave me a severe case of MMA blue balls.
ask dana to finish you off, just say you're a fighter and he'll probably do it. couple of good fights, thought warmachine and rollins was fight of the night till the main, now can't decide. hey if dana is serious about paying guys more, then declare both matches 'fight' of the night and give all 4 bonuses.
Well there can only be one fight of the night, but you bet your ass those guys are getting a nice check for all 4 of their efforts. There are two things Dana, or any other promoter I would imagine, will love you forever for, stepping up like Pointon and John, and fighting like its the most important thing in the world. Look at Joe Riggs, he stepped up to fight Hughes on short notice, and hes a guy who has to cut an ungodly amount of weight at 170, his Conditioning coach/dietician went into a depressive episode and couldnt help, and he didn't quite make weight, but he took the fight, and got rewarded for it by getting alot of fights afterwords. Thats why Dana had no time for somebody like Hightower. On a side note, I really hope Riggs is able to fight though his problems with opiates and get back to his full form...he did beat Diaz after all.
Pretty much every fight on the finale was better than any fight the whole season. That's one thing that makes me distrust the results of the show actually. It seems like every guy fights ten times better when they train with their own (ostensibly lesser quality) camps before the finale than they do on the show with the "world class" trainers.
so what are you saying? I thought it odd they kept saying 'hes the best he's ever looked' over and over.
It may be that they've learned a lot, but on the show it seems like they're just to prepared to fight. After the fact when they can prepare in a normal environment and practice all that they've learned in a way that works for them, they look a hell of a lot better. That's my theory anyway. It's not like I've seen every one of them fight before the show and then after and can tell you for a fact. All I can say is that the first set of fights this season were all ****ing garbage and the fights in the finale were all good, or at least one guy in the fight looked really really good.
