Me neither. Heavyweights are different, its not just about who won the most rounds. You could debate who won by a larger margin, but if you compare the way Povetkin always had Estrada under wraps and actually hurt him, there is no comparison. Estrada didn't feel comfortable against Povetkin, no showboating, no real aggression, he wasn't enjoying life.
No big mystery. You're looking at our "C" level athletes. The cream of the athletic crop have been taking up the big sports for multiple generations now. When you don't have the best boxing you end up with what you see. This is why no one over here gives a **** about boxing. The entire division is full of average athletes and nothing exceptional or extraordinary.
And all you nuthuggers think he could beat Wlad or Vitali..... this guy is more overrated that Golota.
I see it a little differently. From the beginning Adamek was on the outside circling, and hitting Estrada with fast combinations to the body, then head, etc. He beat, clearly, a pretty slick boxer, which is the type of fighter Adamek has the hardest time against. He didnt try to muscle him around, just circled, and boxed him from the outside. Thats what the game plan was. He never hurt Estrada, but Estrada has a good chin, and has never been down. On top of that he isnt an easy target to hit. Adameks power looked great against Golota. Floored him with a quick, short right. Hard to say I think from this fight. But his stamina towards the end did seem to be lacking a little bit, usually he does pretty good till the end, but maybe thats because of how busy he was. He moved around a lot tonight.
Well, fair enough. What I meant to say was he was bigger than Adamek in the way that Estrada was, but will be throwing more punches.
I didn't think Adamek's power looked awesome against Golota. Sure, he got to him eventually, only after 5 rounds or whatever which looks fantastic on paper. And it was a good shot. But prior to that he was hitting Golota with everything, you kinda expect when a guy with heavyweight power is landing with such regularity you will see an impact rather quicker. It looked more like a guy with cruiserweight power knocking out a big, but old and shopworn heavyweight with an accumalation of punches.
As an American fight fan I'm ****ing sick of the attitude of guys like Estrada and Kevin Johnson. These guys are clowns. Too much running off at the mouth and too little offense. But then they can't shut up about it either. You guys aren't good....
I don't think he would beat either K brother but 40-1 through three weight classes and two-time champ/one-time linear champ through two weight classes means he is a far more solid competitor than Andrew Golota and deserves some serious respect.
Truth, and like you previously mentioned, Povetkin looked far better against Estrada. Also Adamek is a pressure fighter and he got bullied by a boxer.
Yeah, and with a hell of a lot more force. I know. This confirms my serious doubt for me that Adamek shouldn't be in the ring with Arreola or any of the HW champs either. But he's going to try anyway and I appreciate that. Guy's got balls.
Awesome maybe too big of a word, but I think you could call it HW power. It was a good shot, but most importantly it was one shot that he caught him with, and Golota has a decent chin. All I am saying is that I don't think you can use this fight to gauge his power. I think it looked pretty good against Golota. He isnt a KO artist, and doesnt pack a punch like Wlad, but I think his power is pretty good from what I've seen.. altho honestly speaking there hasnt been too much to judge this by.
That's what really worries me right there. Backed up and bullied against a boxer who doesn't punch that hard.
