:-( How many more people know Maidana? A couple hundred people maybe?
Lara is easier to build up... his robbery against PWill (a Floyd boogeyman), a victory over Angulo (similar to Loaded Margarito, another Floyd Boogeyman) AND he smashed Trout worse than Canelo.

What did Maidana do? He beat overrated sh*tty version of Berto. We've seen this movie over and over and over.

    You mean sh*tty Berto?

like I said... we've seen this before. How is that easier? What new selling points are there?

Every fighter who fights Floyd is in for a mismatch. He has had 1 close fight in his entire career. Just 1.

Yeah... a sh*tty version of Berto. The same guy who was taken to task by Ponce De Leon and Paulie.

Broner looks elite against crap, but struggles mightily when facing someone who has game = Berto

Well, if you were intelligent you'd see that "sh*tty Berto" = Broner.

Maidana has headlien about 4 or 5 shows on HBO/Showtime. From the Ortiz,Cayo,Khan,Morales,Devon,Karras,Lopez and Broner fights i woudl expect people to knwo who Maidana is.

You speak as if he is some unknown. I've seen maidana fight live more than i have Lara plus he has been in more big fights than Lara. (Lara was on Maidana's undercard last year lolz)

So how many more people know Maidana then? Quantify it for me. Is it hundreds of thousands? My point is that it isn't enough to make a dent in PPV sales so the point is moot.

Casual fans often dont know who a lot of people are. But they pay attention to the pre-fight hype, adverts and such. Also, google.

Is why Lara or Maidana is easier sell than say Khan. Its harder to hype a fight with a guy whose last several outings were poor. People who google up FMJ next opponent before dishing $75 clams , and I imagine thats the majority, would quickly see Lara is legit.

Opponent doesnt need to be already known, he needs to be good or at least sellable as good - when you have a 20 million dollar marketing budget. Maidana last few fights make him salable as good (in the same vein as Alvarez, despite no boxing heads pegged either to win), Lara is marketable as good.

Khan... his last few fights make an awfully hard turd to polish.
