Note: I didn't catch the HBO commentary which often seems to effect many posters opinion so I can't comment how they saw it. But I had Ortiz beating Peterson comfortably, boxing on the move and almost getting the KO early and putting a lot of rounds in the bag, so when Peterson worked his way into the fight and started to narrow the gap, it seemed too little too late already. I had Ortiz winning by 96-92, 6 rounds to 4 with the two extra points for the 2KDs. I say: under the scoring system I use I see absolutely NO WAY how could the judges gave 6 rounds to Peterson. 5 each maybe (still an Ortiz win), but 6 rounds? I was like... what the hell? A draw? Not without difficulties, but Ortiz won that fight. Anyway, expect Victor vs. Maidana II soon.
Yes, i had ortiz winning 97-91 I only gave peterson the last three rounds, you might give him 1 or even if youa re very generous 2 from the first 7 rounds, but then still the 2 kd's would have made ortiz the winner. Peterson in the beginning threw more punches than ortiz but it were only soft jabs with a gay sound to the gloves of ortiz where ortiz connected most of the times when he threw something. Peterson did very well in the end but he clearly lost the fight, after the fight you can also see him looking all dissapointing and sad because he knew he lost. Clear robbery in my eyes.
So, comfortably I wrote a letter to the WBA. And I'm not joking. When I lose vCash unfairly, I just start writing all kinds of mother****ers.
In rounds it should have been in the vicinity of 6-4 for Ortiz or 5 all. Either way, with the extra points it comes out a close Ortiz win. People acting like Ortiz authoritatively won more than six rounds...uh, no. That didn't happen. There's a happy medium here. 95-93 for Peterson is wrong...but so is giving Peterson 3 rounds or fewer.
I had it 94-94. Lederman had it wide for Ortiz, but I'm convinced he takes rounds off and just guesses at times.
I'm shocked this thread didn't get more comments. That was quite controversial to say the least. But then again, it was also a total stinker so maybe just can't muster up giving a ****.
Ortiz won that fight. I don't see how the refs scored that fight a draw. Wasn't there like 2 KDs in that fight and it was a 10 rd? Come on?!
I'm not a fan of Ortiz, but it really should have been Ortiz TKO 3. The ref saved Peterson with that bull**** second count
