I had Ortiz winning 95-93. And that was with Peterson coming on strong at the end. I don't see how he could get the nod though, not with the 2 KD's. There's no way I saw him winning 7 rds. Ortiz deserved the nod, but I think the reason there isn't much of an outcry is because of the way Ortiz finished the fight. He was being pushed back and potshotting against a smaller, weaker opponent who it seemed he would dominate earlier in the fight.
I'm going to have to watch the fight again. I normally write down my round by round score, but I was busy with a few things and was'nt paying enough attention in the early going to score it proper. I was paying attention past the midpoint, and with what I remember from the early going, I'm more than certain I have Peterson winning more rounds than Ortiz....... As the rounds were passing, I found myself shaking my head at Ledermans score on HBO........ I'm going to have to score it again proper to make certain, but from my viewpoint, I either had it a draw or Peterson up by a point. A draw is probably proper as the commentating crew mentioned on HBO, some or the rounds had little action that it was difficult to score. .......btw guys, I agreed with what Merchant pointed out in the fight, "why in the heck was Ortiz running away from Peterson?.......just lateralling around in circles without much to it? Was he trying to have the uneducated say he was the ring general because he could circle a ring? Little came from Ortiz constantly circling the ring and he was'nt moving his hands to set anything up.
Can someone explain to me how the **** a judge could possibly score that fight for peterson (one judge), let alone a draw? That was disgraceful. It seriously makes me wonder if GBP actually were looking for a way to dump Ortiz. I have actually wondered this even since the Maidana fight.
Divac, you are so ****ing terrible at scoring fights, no need for pen and paper. As for sharing Merchant's viewpoint in a fight, that's never a good sign -- it was quite obvious Ortiz was circling away to draw Peterson into a counter shot, but Floyd Mayweather he ain't.
I didn't see the whole fight, I was more interested in Mares-Darchinyan. I did see Ortiz running away for 2 minutes of each round I watched. I was also getting tired of seeing his girly thighs.
I had it a draw. Ortiz has clearly taken a step back and still hasnt recovered mentally from the Maidana loss. But how bout some props to Peterson, it looked like it was all but over early but fought on to make it competitive even with a bloodied messed up face.
Ortiz won because he had a huge third round in a 10 round fight. If not for that round, Peterson would have won as he was hitting Ortiz clean all night. Ortiz ran alot during the fight & didn't hit Peterson clean often. Peterson looked rusty as he came off a long layoff.
Lamont is a guy that say he was whooping mayweathers ass, Now I know a mayweather trying to get in shape is diffrent from a mayweather on fight night but still this dude claimed to whoop mayweathers ass and ortiz a very young guy handled him easily I was expecting Peterson to dominate from what was said I havnt seen him fight before tho Im a big Ortiz hater because of the quit but he won this fight, they are going to break ortiz he is so young I had no ****ing clue how young he is he should not had been in the ring with madaina yet and he should have got the win yesterday that poor kid
Ortiz knocked him down twice and landed more power shots through out the fight! What does ortiz have to do in your eyes to earn the victory? Does he need a tatoo of pacquiao on his ass?? ****.
