I guess it is better than not getting a buck but it must be hard for some of the fighters to move onto wrestling which seems to have had a reputation of a being a lesser sport (and I am a huge wrestling fan).
And conversely, Galento actually boxed the incomparable Freddie Blassie in 1943... he of the great movie My Breakfast With Blassie as well as a long and storied career as champion NWA wrestler and WWF manager.
