All jokes aside, Wilder has done nothing to deserve any kind of credit in the mind of a rational human being. The best you can say about him is that his career is still something of a question mark with him having taken the path of least resistance to becoming a world titlist.

His personal misdeeds are also well known. It's also hilarious to see anyone who slates Golovkin praise Wilder when comparatively Wilder's CV makes the Kazakh's resume look as good as De La Hoya's in terms of names faced! The racial biases on this site are too much and I mean that both ways.

- humble and respectful

Why do most Wilder fans criticize Golovkin and vice versa?

I for one quite like both of them. The Povetkin debacle was not Wilder's fault. I think Wilder's improved over the last few years and would be a real test for anyone currently in the HW division. The only two things I have against him are: disgraceful showboating against fat tomato cans in the past, and a general lack of desire to fight better opponents. I'll forgive him quickly if he agrees to unify 2017 or early 2018.

 

You forgot to add , he is a woman beater, beats up the mentally disabled, oaus he's friends to take dives for him.

I'm not Wilder's biggest fan, but I find it absolutely baffling how much hate he gets. Wilder has defended his titles and fights fairly often, which is more than I can say for the disgraceful fat oaf that some people are willing to defend because they find stupid irresponsible behavior and being a liar entertaining or something.

 

Most here just want him to actually fight the top HW's and he has no desire to actually do it. Once winning the title he has fought nothing but cans and the whole Povetkin issue turned out not to be an issue which it looked like Wilder used it as an excuse to run first chance he got to go back to smashing cans again...

See he may actually be a greatest but until he actually gets in the ring with someone good he should continue to be the but of our jokes..
