They already rematched? Damn, Aoki really is something. He kind of defies the new age of MMA, which basically states that one-dimensional ground fighters won't be able to survive. He's something else.

Stands no chance against someone like Penn though. Sherk would be very interesting.

Good news for those who have HDNet.

HDNet Fights announces groundbreaking partnership with DREAM on Inside MMA

HDNet has quickly established a reputation as the television destination for fans of mixed martial arts. The announcement made on tonight's edition of Inside MMA only helped solidify that reputation.

The newest partner of HDNet Fights is DREAM, the upstart Japan-based MMA organization founded by the organizers of K-1 and former executives of Pride Fighting Championship. DREAM features some of the best fighters in the world including Mirko Cro Cop and Gesias "JZ" Calvancante.

As part of this exclusive broadcast agreement, HDNet will air DREAM 1 and DREAM 2 on May 2 and May 3 respectively, truly making the first weekend in May a "DREAM Weekend" for MMA fans. Both broadcasts will begin at 10:30 ET.

DREAM 3 will air LIVE on Sunday, May 11 at 3:00 a.m ET, and have two encore presentations. The first is Sunday, May 11 at 4:00 p.m ET and the second on May 17 at 9:30 p.m ET.

HDNet and HDNet Fights will air more DREAM events throughout the year - DREAM 4 on June 15, DREAM 5 on July 21 and DREAM 6 on September 23 - to American and Canadian audiences.

I think you could make a pretty good case for Aoki being the #1 LW right now.

Aoki is definitely The Goods - but BJ Penn and Sean Sherk should have the top spots covered until Aoki matches up with one or the other. I would love to see him make his way to the UFC to fight those guys.

Aoki's resume and streak is way better than either of their's at the moment. Why should the fact that they're the best in the UFC rank them above him? I'd choose Aoki to beat Sherk as well, though Penn would handily beat him.

Sherk and Penn's employment with the UFC has nothing to do with their ranking on my scale. I rank them higher because I simply think they are better than Aoki. However, an Aoki/Sherk match would be great to watch and I would love to see if Aoki could catch Sherk in one of his submissions.
