I wonder why that is. i feel like there's a surplus of nice guys in boxing. it's not like there arent americans with skills. the fact is, boxing has lost its lustre in america, and guys arent superstars strictly because of having unbelievable skills anymore. fighters need to start taking note of that, and become more outgoing and outspoken no matter what persona they choose to employ. America's heavyweight landscape in particular, is wide open. all you have to do is knock decent opponents out in spectacular fashion and you are a potential superstar. even though boxing has declined in america, the whole country still craves a genuine, bad ass heavyweight. that's why seth mitchell is being hyped like so strongly, despite obvious flaws. the only reason wilder isn't well known is because he faces genuine tomato cans, in the alabama backwoods somewhere.

It's the "it" factor. None of these current guys have it. It's just harder for little guys in general.

Heavyweights have the most potential in general to become superstars. With heavyweights, it's all about the KO. It ain't about looks, personality, etc in that division.

From USA Broner has the most potential. Fan friendly style, witty at interviews, gots skills. Fighters that know how to engage with the media and fans they become more mainstream. Ali was a natural.
