Apart from round one, which was Hopkins best round against Joe Calzaghe?

Hopkins actually won a fair few rounds in that fight, and I thought the fight was a draw when I watched it live, was not confident of a Zaggy win at all.

The decision went his way though and that win is becoming very underrated due to the close nature and scrappy manner in which the fight panned out.

I scored for Calzaghe second time round. First time I thought Hopkins won clearly.

On the night I remember thinking "**** I'm not sure he's done it." Although that was mainly down to tension and thinking american judges would favour the american.

I actually went through the whole fight making a note of the close rounds. I gave it to joe by a round or two iirc, and that was by giving the too close to call rounds evenly to each fighter.

I tried to do it as unbiasly as possible just for my own curiosity.

Don't think I could do it again though lol.

If you score the earlier rounds for Calzaghe then the score will be similar to the judges who gave it to Joe on fight night.

Most the people who have it 114-113 for Bernard gave him the majority of the first half of the bout.

Those saying they couldn't watch the fight again really should as it's nowhere near as bad as some have hyped it (down?) up to be.

rounds 1-8 are open to interpretation thats what makes it interesting and gives the wide distribution of scores. I gave bernard 1-4,7,10 and round 6 even, the rest to joe

I haven't watched the fight again since around the time it happened (watched it live and watched it back a day or so later), and I did give Bernard the majority of the early rounds.

In the alleged "close" rounds, I preferred his cleaner, quality punching and scoring shots as opposed to a lot of Calzaghe's work which I simply did not feel were scoring blows.

I'm of the thought that it doesn't matter how many you throw, it's the ones that land (legally) are the ones that count. If fights were just decided purely on work rate then there would be no need to fight at all, just stand in a corner each and shadow box for 12 rounds and see who throws the most punches per round, and there's your winner.

I do sincerely believe a lot of people - including boxing judges - get blitzed by Joe's flurries and just award him the benefit of the doubt for them. If you watch them back in slow motion, you'll find most of his shots do not connect in a scoring area or with the scoring part of the glove. Arms and elbows don't count as a scoring blow, neither does hitting with the inside of the glove (commonly referred to as "slaps"). I do genuinely think most of Calzaghe's work rate results in those kind of blows, yet he is rewarded legitimate points for them.

An interesting note, I recall the British commentary team were doubtful if Joe deserved the win, and I distinctly remember Enzo screaming in the corner that they needed a knock out to win just before the 12th round.

I don't know if it was because I was pissed at the time but whilst I was watching it in the arena, I thought it contained a lot more action than I anticipated beforehand. I was entertained at the time.

But that maybe because watching Audley but me on the verge of sleep. :huh

Are those last two points meant to mean something? 70+% of people on here think Calzaghe won...does that mean something? Corners always say **** in the last few rounds to motivate their fighter.

I have no interest whatsover in watching this fight again.

I watched it out in Vegas live and I had no idea who won the fight at the end of it because it was so close and a horrible fight to watch.

I watched it a second time closely when I got home and had Joe winning by 2 points.

Not watched it since, Hopkins ruined that spectacle with his cheating and spoiling tactics.

Scored it closer than the first time I saw it.

I thought the 3rd was clearly B-Hop's the easiest round to give him.
