I know this might sound ridiculous to some and i'm not a massive Mundine nuthugger, but in all seriousness has Mandy :)lol: that's from Josey) ever been in trouble chin wise in a fight???????

Mind you he hasn't really gone toe to toe or slugged it out like a Katsidis, but in all honestly i think Mundines is not that bad. He probably gets a bad rap cos his oldman had a glass jaw.

Sorry about another Mundine thread but there's not much doing on this thread lately and considering Kelly Pavlik has been talked about as a future opponent then i reckon is a relevant topic.

Will we see his chin tested now he's getting older and slower??

I think it's his old man who gets a bad wrap. Being stopped by punchers like Kahu Mahunga etc is no disgrace. He also fought well above his natural weight class on many occassions.

Tony Mundine was tiger if he was on top of his opponent...:deal

But he seemed to lose heart if he was hurt.... He certainly didn't have the heart of a true Champion...:-(

Chocs old man didn't really have a Glass chin as such imo , take a look at a couple of the guys he fought , Benny Briscoe , Carlos Monson (ATG ), Emmile Grifith another ,etc any of these three mentioned is a level way above anything his boy has fought imo and would have had him out of there in record time on each occasion had he ever fought @ that level , old man Mundine is one of Australia's finest exports whilst his boy has a country mile to go if he is to imitate his old man . is his chin up to it Kel ? No way as soon as Pavlik connects its good night Irene . :deal

Sorry to disagree...But Tony Mundine is a lowlife **** who was running a protection racket around the Redfern area until he hopped on his son's coat tails.

He was renowned in boxing circles for losing interest if he got hurt...

I witnessed a Sparring session between Mundine and Manni Vaka at McQuillans Gym......

Fair enough...Vaka was a Light heavy at the time...

Even though it was only a "Spar" Mundine couldn't help himself and dropped Manni...

Manni then got up and floored Mundine 3 times before Mundine did a "Charlie"...and quit....

Funny......Someone leaked a story the next day to the media about Mundine decking a Light/heavy.....But no mention was made of Mundine being floored...

    Go figure....

Getting knocked unconscious by possibly the lightest hitting world champion of all time means that your chin is suspect, forever, period.

He also went down to relatively mediocre punchers in Nishydishwasher and plodding Manny Siaca. But going 12 rounds with 3 big hitters in Kessler, Green, and Echols without getting hurt goes along way to vindicating him.

I think he was proper hurt against Siaca and if that punch wasnt towards the end of the round he may have been in trouble.

i dont slang people for how they make there money, its a tough world and we all have to do it some way, i work a 9-5 for some people they just cant do that, dont let tonys reputation outside ruin his great resume inside a truly awesome fighter who would of definately been up there in the belts and possibly pound for pound...

Please enlighten me as to what is unintelligent and misinformed about saying that Anthony got knocked unconscious by Sven Ottke.

I think his chin is better than most think, but he does lack the willingness to cop a punch in order to deliver one, and is also very reluctant to mix it up.

The KD from siaca hurt him I think, because he pretty much ran from him for the rest of the fight after that.
