Come on mate....are you telling me a professional judge sitting at ringside is in a better position to judge a fight than us pissed people watching it at home on TV

I don't need to listen to the mostly purile and often biased comments from Aussie boxing commentators to know what's going on in the ring.

I'm not running a vendetta against R & J's but sometimes I think their obvious inconsistencies deserve to be highlighted.

By the way I was drinking coffee not booze. :D

I did not see the fight but going by reports it will make a good rematch... Long John McCubin was ok, he realised when ya out of town ya out of town. Great bloke John McCubbin, boxing needs more like him... Next time out I'm sure Callum will work extra hard.

Aaron fought a bad fight. I think Callan went terrific - a best of three Rematch in Melbourne should be arranged.

Then we can hold the dead rubber up here again ;)

Rematch in Melbourne would certainly put bums on seats

I never scored the fight but I thought Callan walked away with the last round.
That's my only comment about a great fight.

There is an exercise we should dwell on in these debates.

I have watched years of fights on TV. Often with blokes as keen a fan as me & it occurred to me that if 2-3 blokes watching a fight on TV. Watching the same vision the camera is focused on, how we can often be so adamant "my" selection won when others thought the opposite,, & were just as adamant.

What about the next time, we have a poll for TV watchers on the most controversial fight, & see what difference there is on the forum?

Yeah, Long John's a great guy. I spent a little while training in Preston when he was there. **** he'd make us work hard.

***** of a guy. Sort of a bloke you wouldn't want as head waiter. He'd make you carry 8 plates on one hand & pick your nose with the other.

Not his place to defened his actions as an official on the forum.

Ask him about another topic in another thread and he will be around. Its a tough job - he had a different view than some of us.

On the night he gave credit to Aaron's defense and said he collected a lot on the gloves. He made a call and if he got it wrong I give him the credit for having a go and learning from mistakes.

Callan showed awesome skills - cant wait to see more of him!

Yep! Hides under the bed all day, but seems to venture out at night. Friend of mine spotted him @ Chermside Coles @ 8.47pm wearing Molly Meldrum hat, sunnies & inconspicuous pink beard
