Israel Garcia for a faux title called the WBA intercontinental title (the same organization that currently has two world champions).

How does this make sense when Garcia's last fight was a tko loss to Chris Arreola?

Get knocked out, fight for a belt. THat is modern day boxing.

It happens quite often. To me, its not any worse than say....Andrew Golota getting 3 consecutive title shots 5 years ago.

Anyway, the "title" at stake means nothing, so whatever...let them have the silly trinket.

I was thinking the same thing. Europeans keep hyping this guy, Boystov. I've seen him fight, and I am not impressed.

I can and I will. Khan picked up that trinket immediately after holding the WBO version, and being KTFO in under a minute. :deal

I don't think thats the case.

Most people are desperately disapointed by his recent performances. He has stagnated badly.

Boytsov is still not ready to take on some of the better names out there.Well, there is no need to rush him into big fights.
Like some other posters here I am a little bit disappointed with his last outings to the ring.
His last foe was tailor made for him and should never have been able to go the full route with the young Russian talent.
On the other hand the jury is still out on him.
I very much hope that Boytsov will face Brian Minto in one of his next fights. There is rumour that Boytsov will fight the American in a couple of months.
Minto is a decent heavy+will be a tough test for the young Russian.
Lets hope that the promising young talents wont fall short of our high expectations!:good

For no other reason than it being an entertainin fight. Boysov hasn't really convinced me yet, Fury is ultra-green but has skills and wouldn't duck Boystov even at this stage of his career.

Not every post indicates a political leaning, some of us just like to see fun fights.
