good point if he came in 3 lbs less JMM would have totally dominated. He was obviously the more skilled of the two:yikes

yep. i thought pbf was 155-160 during the fight.

    152. my ass.

he weighed in at 146 for a 144 fight. clearly he was having weight issues.

and besides, once you hit early 30s metabolism changes.

Is it the same magazine owned by GBP??? Then do not believe any bull**** coming out of them.

Mayweather refused to be weighed, now there is a weight????? Where did that come from??? Thin air and imagined by Schaefer?

we never will know what the answer will be since Mayweather doesn't do offiicial weight ins on fight night.

It would be good for us bettors to have this knowledge. HBO was hiding something, shouldn't happen for a Pac-Mayweather fight.

dude, pbf is not the same fighter he was 2-3 years ago.

i do not know how old you are. i am 32 and physically you will notice the changes in you once you hit the 30-32 range.

losing weight seems to be difficult but retaining weight is so damn easy.

pbf fans often point out that pbf can make 140 easy. he has not weighed in beyond 147 etc. etc. etc.

but the point is, it was also his first time to come in 2 lbs over the contracted weight limit.

    does that tell you something?

no it doesn't tell me anything because that fight was a catch weight of 144 pounds!!!! Floyd knew he wasn't going to try and make that and that is why marquez was notified beforehand and compensated $600,000 for it...he came in at 146 and was obviously in tip top shape.....you are comparing yourself to one of the most well conditioned athletes in all sports today...you need to look at floyd videos while he is not fighting...there is not a significant difference in his physique...he is not like hatton my friend..

No! Because they still cling and defend with their lives the notion that Floyd easily makes 140 without a sweat.

What do you expect from people with brains the size of a pea!

When you said notified beforehand, does it mean the night before the fight???

i'm a floyd fan and do not think he can make 140...maybe he can but he wouldn't be effective at that weight anymore

it was negotiated weeks before...floyds camp basically knew marquez would not turn the fight down even if he came in overweight...floyd even said it in a post interview that he knew marquez would fight because he is a warrior...if it wasn't negotiated beforehand floyd would have atleast attempted to shed off the two pounds and try again 2 hours later...and why do you think marquez was not surprised one bit!!!!!!!

no one is claiming that he is hatton but to insist that pbf will retain whatever physical attributes he had in the past is simply wrong.

if we are to insist on him maintaining weight, we would see pbf remain in 135 or 140.

we would see all other fighter stay in one weight class. but the point being, as you grow older your body changes. you attain optimum mass.

physical shape? shaq is one of the most imposing athletes and check how much he weighs now compared to shaq of orlando days.

the point being, weight gain is simply difficult to fight. from 146-156.

just a weight gain of 10 pounds. are you saying this is a physical impossibilty?

not ordinary probably for pbf. but coming in at 146 for a 144 fight. why do you think he agreed to this if he initially thought he can make weight?

    lol at the "notified" post.

hmm, so you enter into a contract at 144 knowing beforehand that you cannot make weight but agreeing to pay 600k.

at least there was penalty. in our jurisdiction. that can be already a ground for fraud (no pun intended) because you basically fooled the other party into entering a contract which you did not intend to honor in the first place.

and with jmm already contractually obligated, he would look like a ***** if he backed out of a fight. notwistanding that pbf had the size, age, reach, height and massive weight advantage on fight night.

there was a reason that there was a catchweight. and that was to make the fight more even. but apparently, you are saying that pbf had no intention to honor the contract way before the fight was fought.

great. just great. shows the character of the man.

he knew from the get go he wasn't makin 144...and i lost respect because of that...they used marquez' warrior mentality against him, also was the biggest fight of marquez' career, no way he was turning this down..

and you need to look at videos of mayweather in between fights...he looks almost exactly the same as he does on fight night!!!!

cotto is an example of a welterweight that gains 10-15 pounds over night not floyd...cotto looks massive compared to floyd!!!!
