Since Tarvers talks with Dawson are off . Tarver and Green has moved one giant step closer according to Greens agent Angelo Hyder. ``I believe there will be an announcement soon, Hyder said. ``Theres not too many light-heavyweights who can generate the excitement and income Green can in Perth with a fight like that filling Subiaco Oval there and a crowd of 30,000. It is believed Green has offered Tarver 100 per cent of all American TV revenue for the bout.
Fight could happen,as it is true that not any of the other top light heavies could fill and 30plus thousand stadium on their name alone.. Like him or not danny could fill a stadium in w.a. no troubles.. Hopefully tarver sees this as a easy couple of million and comes down under.. Dont rate Tarver much but would still be good to see some worldranked boxing action... Also would love to see a ozzie give to a yank in our backyard.... ozzie ozzie ozzie oi oi oi...:bbb
Green smashes Tarver. work the numbers though, $2mUS is **** loads! you would need s0,000 people for Green to make money. it's fine to buy a title but no fighter should fight for nothing. too many things can go wrong. anwya he'll have my 100 bux for a ticket!!
After watching some of that Muriqui v Tarver fight my opinion of Tarver has changed alot. I see Green with an excellent chance in this fight if it happens.
Dumb question - how does Green offering 100% of US TV revenues help if the fight is in Perth? That would mean the fight would be on at 9 in the morning stateside - I've never heard of any fight being on that early. I guess they could show it on tape delay, but Showtime probably wouldn't pay as much for a delayed fight. In any case, Tarver is on his way down, and Green might have a shot if he can keep his chin out of the way. Tarver's a stronger puncher than Adamek, so if he tries to brawl too much, I can see Tarver winning by TKO. On the other hand, Green throws harder punches than anyone Tarver's faced recently, and can do some damage himself. I'd give Tarver a slight edge, but it's a closer fight than most American pundits would give it credit for, and it should be an exciting match either way, so I hope it happens.
Honestly Tarver has not looked good since he Ko'd Jones and even then he looked pretty average for 1 1/2 rounds, he doesnt seem to care much for his craft anymore. This is Green's best chance to beat a guy like Tarver, he is at home, he is coming off a good win and Tarver is starting to look past it. That being said its still a real up hill battle for Danny. The milkdud still has enough moves to give Mr Roboto a very tricky fight. Plus Tarver actually has an alright chin, so its not like BANG and lights out as soon as Danny touches him. He is going to have to work for his win.
Tarver has never ever looked really good to me, i've seen about 10 of his fights and he just hasnt impressed.
Green definitely has a chance IMO. Tarver looked far from good against Muriqi, so should the fight come off i expect Green to prove some of his doubters wrong. I would rather Green fight Tarver instead of like a Chad Dawson who i could see beating Green in a near shutout.
far out id love this fight to happen... tarver is still a massive name in boxing and would be great to see him come to aus
